Apr 30th
This is the best news of the week for me, I expect comic book lovers having mass nerdgasms all around the world with this bit of news. Warner Bros have officially announced that the sequel to The Dark Knight (Batman 3) will be released on July 20, 2012 in both regular and IMAX theaters. This comes just a few days after IMAX announcing that they had signed a 20-film deal with Warner Bros. With the tentatively titled ‘Batman 3′ listed as one of the films which might be released sometime between 2011 and 2013. Now expect all the casting and ‘Batman 3′ villain rumours to ensue.
First Official Image From London Boulevard – Starring Colin Farrell & Kiera Knightley
Apr 30th
Above is the first official picture from London Boulevard – the directional debut from the Academy Award-winning screenwriter William Monohen. Monohen wrote the screenplay for Kingdom Of Heaven, Body Of Lies, The Departed and Edge Of Darkness and now he feels it’s time to get his feet wet as a director, looking at his writing credits I cant wait! I’ve heard great things about the novel in which the film is based on and looking at the cast (Colin Farrell, Ray Winstone) this looks like a winner.
A freshly released ex-con (Colin Farrell) from South London attempts to stay out of the way of a ruthless loan shark by finding honest work at the Holland Park mansion of faded movie actress (Kiera Knightley). As his violent past catches up with him and his disturbed sister is threatened, he is forced to act.
The First Look Of Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Apr 30th
Yahoo have unveiled the first photo of Chris Hemsworth (Star Trek, A Perfect Getaway) as Thor in Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming adaptation of the Marvel character. For a teaser I like the look of it, I’m a fan of the beard and I like the whole broodiness about the photo, which matches the Marvel character. Thor also stars Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Ray Stevenson and Rene Russo. Thor will be in cinemas on May 6, 2011
Jonah Hex Trailer Finally Released
Apr 30th
With just under two months away from the release date, the first trailer for Jonah Hex has finally been released online and I actually think it look’s like dumb and completely nuts fun! I’m very much undecided though, I know there has been a lot of negative feedback online about the film and the fact that a trailer is being released so late does make the studios confidence in the film look debatable. I really like the cast though, especially Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Michael Fassbender (I don’t particularly like Megan Fox but she’s not hard to look at). Hopefully this is good popcorn fun and not Wild Wild West’esq (it was so so bad).
New Prince Of Persia Featurette For Gemma Arterton’s Character Tamina
Apr 29th
Below is a new featurette from Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, it showcases the lovely Gemma Arteton’s character Tamina. This could possibly be the first good video game based movie, the following film’s were terrible -Mortal Combat, Tomb Raider, Doom, Super Mario Bros and especially Street Fighter, ESPECIALLY Street Fighter!!!! Until watching Street Fighter at the tender age of 8 I never thought you could possibly make a film so bad, my child like innocence was taken from me by that film, it was a complete and utter turd. Fingers crossed this will be good, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is released in the UK 21st May and also stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Sir Ben Kinglsey, Toby Kebbell and Alfred Molia. Check out my interview with Gemma Arterton here.
New Poster For Christopher Nolan’s Inception
Apr 29th
If you read my blog regularly you probably know I’ve made it no secret how much I’m looking forward to this. Nolan Fans discovered this poster through a Mind Crime viral game online, where someone ‘spotted a new poster for Inception while travelling through one of the parks in the game’. The poster is great, I love his film’s psychological undertones, I’ve got a feeling this will completely blow my mind, the poster alone makes me feel a queasy! Hopefully a better quality version of the poster will be release online soon
