Cannes 2010 Line-up – No Tree Of Life (Yet)
It look’s like from this list that Terrence Malick’s Tree Of Life still isn’t finished, I was really hoping it would be ready for Cannes, you never know though, it could possibly be added at a later date, there are still a couple spots left in the ‘In Competition’ category. Cannes president Thierry Fremaux has said that the “official selection is not complete yet” and currently six films are missing, hopefully some nice surprises. Clint Eastwood’s “Hereafter,” Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan” look like they’re unfinished as well on an American front as they’re missing. I like the look of a number of these films particularly Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s “Biutiful” (starring Javier Bardem), Doug Liman’s “Fair Game” (starring Sean Penn and Naomi Watts), Mike Leigh’s “Another Year”, Takeshi Kitano’s “Outrage,” and Lee Chang-dong’s “Poetry”. The festival runs May 12th – 23rd and the opening film will be Ridley Scott’s “Robin Hood”.
