Epic New Tron Legacy Trailer
Jul 22nd
Bloody hell this trailer is awesome for shawsome! This debuted at Comic-Con just a few hours ago and now via the good folk over at Yahoo you can see it below. It’s been 28 years in the making but the sequel to Tron is just 5 months away now, after watching the trailer December couldn’t come any sooner, it looks mesmerizing! I remember loving the original as a kid but to be honest I’ve totally forgotten what it was like, nostalgia can be a lying, cheating, deceiving b*stard sometimes. Disney will release Tron Legacy in Disney Digital 3D on December 17th, 2010.
Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world of Tron where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey of escape across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.”Tron Legacy” is directed by Joseph Kosinski and is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17th in 3D
First Official Look At Natalie Portman In Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan
Jul 22nd
Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film ‘Black Swan’ has been given the honour of opening this years Venice International Film Festival. To celebrate we have been given our first official look at Darth Vader’s baby mama Natalie Portman in her ballet gear. Black Swan also stars Mila Kunis, Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder and Barbara Hershey, the film has been described as a supernatural drama set in the world of New York City Ballet. I’m really looking forward to this, I’m a huge fan of Darren Aronofsky. For me Requiem for a Dream is the greatest addiction movie ever made, The Wrestler was brilliant and I thoroughly enjoyed The Fountain (I know that was a bit hit and miss for some people). Also who doesn’t’ like a bunch of pretty brunettes dressed up as Ballerinas? I’m sold! Check out the USA Today article here, below is a short excerpt from the piece.
“The cast and crew of Black Swan are both excited and humbled by the selection committee’s invitation,” Aronofsky said in a press announcement. “It is an honor to walk the great red carpet on the Lido, and we are excited to premiere our film to the wonderful audiences in Venice.”
First Look At Jennifer Hudson & Terrence Howard In ‘Winnie’
Jul 22nd
Thehollywoodreporter have released the first image of Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard in the upcoming movie Winnie. Hudson -who deservedly won an Oscar for her role in ‘Dreamgirls’- is playing Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, while Howard is playing Nelson Mandela. The script is based on the Anne Marie du Preez Bezdrob biography “Winnie Mandela:A Life.” Winnie Mandela is a complex and extraordinary woman to say the least, I’m really interested to see how this film pans out, on paper it looks like a gem! Winnie is set for release sometime in 2011.
Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, 72, remains a popular figure in South African politics despite her 1991 conviction for involvement in the kidnapping, assault and death of a 14-year-old alleged informer, Stompie Moeketsi. She and Nelson Mandela had been married for only a year before he was forced into hiding and then imprisoned in 1962 – he would only be freed in 1990. While he was in gaol, she became an increasingly powerful figure in the African National Congress and went on to run the ANC Women’s League. She was deputy minister of arts, culture, science and technology in the first post-apartheid government for 11 months, until allegations of corruption led to her dismissal.

The Company Men Trailer – Starring Ben Affleck & Tommy Lee Jones
Jul 21st
If you weren’t already aware Tommy Lee Jones is the grandmaster of the ‘face of disapproval’, this film looks like it could be his ‘face of disapproval’ masterpiece. I really like the look of this, the premise is extremely relevant right now – the film follows a year in the life of three men dealing with the fallout of a corporate downsizing. Check out the trailer below, it look’s like we’re in for a winner.
Bobby Walker is living the American dream: great job, beautiful family, shiny Porsche in the garage. When corporate downsizing leaves him and co-workers Phil Woodward and Gene McClary jobless, the three men are forced to re-define their lives as men, husbands, and fathers. Bobby soon finds himself enduring enthusiastic life coaching, a job building houses for his brother-in-law which does not play to his executive skill set, and perhaps the realization that there is more to life than chasing the bigger, better deal. The film stars Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones, Kevin Costner, Chris Cooper, Maria Bello, Craig T Nelson, and Rosemarie DeWitt. The Company Men is directed by John Wells (ER).
