Mark Ruffalo Talks About Playing A Motion Captured Hulk In The Avengers
Vulture recently had a quick chit chat with Mark Ruffalo to talk about his role of Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Marvel’s forthcoming The Avengers movie. I know a lot of people are still soured by his appointment due to the way Marvel got rid of Ed Norton – myself included. However to be fair to Ruffalo he’s a quality actor who I’m sure will be great in the role. What he had to say to Vulture sounds pretty awesome:
“I’m really excited. No one’s ever played the Hulk exactly, they’ve always done CGI. They’re going to do the Avatar stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I’ll actually play the Hulk. That’ll be fun.”
Ruffalo goes on to say that he’s gonna try and stay closer to Bill Bixby’s version of the Hulk from The Incredible Hulk TV series:
“I really love the first TV version of it, the Bill Bixby one. I’m gonna shoot for that a little bit. He was an everyman in it. He’s always on the run and trying to find love. It’s really a sympathetic character, before he turns into the Hulk and f*cks everything up.”
The Avengers will be directed by Joss Whedon and is set to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner. The Avengers hits cinemas May 4th, 2012.
