Johnny Depp Reteaming With Gore Verbinski For The Fifth Time With The Lone Ranger
Deadline have reported that Johnny Depp is set to be reunited with director Gore Verbinski for their fifth film together in a big screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger, the classic radio and TV program which followed a masked Texas Ranger in the American Old West, who galloped around righting wrongs with his Native American sidekick Tonto.
Depp and Verbinski previously worked together on the hugely successful Pirates Of The Caribbean trilogy and on the upcoming animated flick Rango – which looks completely bonkers but at the same time full off charm!
Disney announced back in September 2008 that Johnny Depp is set to portray Tonto. No word on who will be playing The Lone Ranger as of yet. According to Deadline the intent is for The Lone Ranger to be Verbinski’s next project, though no production date has mentioned. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. More news on this project should be coming soon.
