According to Deadline the casting search for Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder’s ‘Superman: Man of Steel’ has officially begun. Warner Bros, producer Christopher Nolan, and director Zack Snyder are said to be looking at actors who are between the ages of 28 and 32 (or at least appear that age) for the iconic role.

The article goes on to say that the studio are open to creating a star, specifically that the actor will most likely either be a discovery or on TV, but likely someone who isn’t well known yet. Actors such as Armie Hammer (The Social Network), Joe Manganiello (True Blood), and Ian Somerhalder (Lost, The Vampire Diaries) are said to be amongst the frontrunners.

I’m excited by the prospect of this film, I‘ve always enjoyed Zack Snyder‘s films and the fact that Christopher Nolan is onboard undertaking a godfather role for the project has lead me to become pretty syked! Look out for this swooping down in cinemas Summer 2012. Production is said to start June 2011.
