New Poster For Tom Hooper’s ‘The King’s Speech’ – Starring Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter & Geoffrey Rush
Yahoo! Movies have got their mitts on this classy new poster for ‘The King’s Speech’ – a strong contender for one of my favourite films of the year. I was fortunate to catch this movie at the London Film Festival last month, it’s certainly worthy of all the Oscar buzz it’s been receiving – particularly Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush’s performances. You can check out my interview with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush here. The King’s Speech is in US cinemas November 26th and the UK release date is January 7th 2011.
This is the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George (‘Bertie’) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.
