New Poster For Tom Hooper’s ‘The King’s Speech’ – Starring Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush & Helena Bonham Carter
IMP Awards have got their poster loving mitts on this regal looking one sheet for ‘The King’s Speech’, Tom Hooper’s warm and compelling drama that’s certainly worthy of all the Oscar buzz it’s been receiving – particularly with regards to Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush’s performances. The King’s Speech is in US cinemas now, the UK release date is January 7th 2011. You can check out my interview with Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush here.
This is the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother abdicates, George (‘Bertie’) reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stutter and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country into war.
