Mila Kunis To Star Opposite James Franco In Sam Raimi’s ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful’
Vulture report that Mila Kunis is set to star opposite James Franco in Sam Raimi’s ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful,’ the prequel to the 1939 classic ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ The film is said to follow Oz (Franco) as a young illusionist with a grandiose attitude who is forced to flee a travelling circus. His hot air balloon is swept up by a tornado to the land of Oz, which is inhabited by Glinda, who becomes the Good Witch of the North, and Evanorah, who becomes the Wicked Witch of the East – the squished one.
According to the report after both Raimi and Franco met with the actress they agreed that she would be perfect for the part of Theodorah, the younger sister of Evanorah who goes on to become the Wicked Witch of the West and, of course, to cackle iconic lines like, “I’ll get you, my pretty … and your little dog, too!” With Kunis’ involvement it sounds like Franco has agreed to do the picture. ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful’ is pencilled in for 2013 release. I love the sound of the premise, which when added to the fact that I’m a humongous Sam Raimi fan pretty much means I’m sold on this flick already!
