Charlie Hunnam To Join Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pacific Rim’
Deadline report that British actor Charlie Hunnam, best known for playing biker Jax Teller in the top-notch TV series ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ is in negotiations to star in the HUGELY (so hugely the caps-lock is necessary) anticipated sci-fi adventure flick ’Pacific Rim’ for director Guillermo del Toro. The Legendary Pictures film is set in a future where giant malevolent creatures threaten to destroy the earth, city by city. To combat its annihilation, the planet must band together and use highly advanced weapons technology to eradicate the growing threat. You can put some money on Hunnam kicking some ass.
The film has already entered pre-production and is set to start principal photography in September. ‘Pacific Rim’ is lined up for a summer 2013 berth. Travis Beacham wrote the script, which was initially rumoured to be the basis for Legendary Pictures’ Godzilla reboot. I am stoked for this project!
