Chris Hemsworth Joins Kirsten Stewart & Charlize Theron In ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’
Following on from Chris Hemsworth’s star-making performance in ‘Thor,’ Deadline reveal that the Aussie actor has officially joined Universal Pictures ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ as the titular huntsman. The Rupert Sanders-directed fairy tale re-imagining also has Kirsten Stewart confirmed to portray Snow White and Charlize Theron on board to portray the Evil Queen. Viggo Mortensen and Hugh Jackman had previously been in negotiations to play the Huntsman.
‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ is a re-telling of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, it will feature an expanded role for the part of the Huntsman. In the original version he is ordered to take Snow White into the woods and kill her, but instead lets her go. In the new take the Huntsman serves as Snow White’s mentor, teaching Snow White to fight and survive against the evil queen. ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ will start production mid-September for a December 21st 2012 release date.
