Variety are reporting that Michelle Williams is set join Sam Raimi’s Wizard Of Oz spin-off ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful’ in the role of Glinda, the Good Witch. Williams completes the triumvirate of witches which also includes Mila Kunis as Theadora, and possibly Rachel Weisz, who’s in talks to play Evanora, a powerful, evil witch who intends to rule the land.

Williams’ character would team up with snake oil salesman James Franco to face off against her evil sisters (Weisz and Kunis) in a power struggle for control of the magical land of Oz. ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ is pencilled in for a 2013 release. I love the sound of the premise, which when added to the fact that I’m a humongous Sam Raimi fan pretty much means I’m sold on this flick already!
