Debut Trailer For ‘Albert Nobbs’ – Starring Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska & Aaron Johnson

Roadside Attractions has released this debut trailer for ‘Albert Nobbs,’ the upcoming feature film adaptation of the Broadway hit ‘The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs.’ In the film award-winning actress Glenn Close plays a woman passing as a man in order to work and survive in 19th century Ireland. Some thirty years after donning men’s clothing, she finds herself trapped in a prison of her own making. The likes of Mia Wasikowska, Aaron Johnson, Brendan Gleeson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Janet McTeer, Brenda Fricker and Pauline Collins also star. Directed by Rodrigo Garcia, ‘Albert Nobbs’ is set for release January 27th, 2012.

A witty Irish-set period drama about the lives of staff at Dublin’s most luxurious hotel: the illegitimate child of a maid, a beautiful couple’s impossible love, and Albert…a woman who pretends to be a man to survive. Nineteenth century Ireland: for a woman to be independent and single, she must deceive everyone – by pretending to be a man.
