‘Game of Thrones’ & ‘Boardwalk Empire’ Helmer Alan Taylor To Direct ‘Thor 2′
Deadline bring word that Alan Taylor has signed up to replace Patty Jenkins (Monster) in the directors chair for Marvel’s ‘Thor 2.’ Jenkins left the project earlier this month, with reports citing “creative differences” as the reason for her departure. Alan Taylor is an accomplished TV director whose credits include ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ ‘Mad Men,’ ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Nurse Jackie.’ He also directed the feature ‘Palookaville.’
Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman will return to star in the film along with Tom Hiddleston. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige will produce the sequel to this summer’s blockbuster ‘Thor,’ which has grossed over $448 million worldwide to date. ‘Thor 2′ is set to be released November 15th, 2013. Marvel Studios is also currently scheduled to release Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’ on May 4th, 2012, along with the Robert Downey Jr-starring ‘Iron Man 3′ on May 3rd, 2013.
