On the promotional campaign for ‘Coriolanus,’ Ralph Fiennes spoke to the Daily Record about Ian Fleming’s James Bond books and his mysterious role in the upcoming Bond flick, ‘Skyfall': “I’m allowed to say that I’m a government agent.” “I used to be a complete nerd about the books and the detail in them. They are fantastic. There was Fleming’s obsession with different kinds of champagne and caviar. He kind of fetishises these things.”

At this moment in time details regarding Fiennes’ “darkly complex” role has been few and far between. Much chatter online has pointed towards him portraying 007’s longtime nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Directed by Sam Mendes, ‘Skyfall’ will see Daniel Craig and Judi Dench continue their roles. The cast also includes Naomie Harris as a field agent named Eve, Javier Bardem as the lead villain, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, and French actress Bérénice Marlohe as “a glamous enigmatic character.”

I’ve got high hopes for ‘Skyfall,’ I’m a huge fan of Daniel Craig’s incarnation of James Bond. This latest chapter is being shot at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, Scotland, Whitehall in London, Shanghai and Istanbul. The screenplay is written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. ‘Skyfall’ will begin its worldwide roll-out in the UK and Ireland on October 26th 2012 and in North America on November 9th 2012. The Director of Photography is Roger Deakins, a nine-time Oscar® nominee who previously shot the films ‘Jarhead’ and ‘Revolutionary Road’ for Mendes.

In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
