Marley Poster bob marley movie 2012 Fantastic New Poster For Kevin MacDonald’s Bob Marley Documentary ‘Marley’

Magnolia Pictures has unveiled this stunning new poster, created by Swedish artist Viktor Hertz, for the upcoming Bob Marley documentary ‘Marley.’ Directed by Oscar-winner Kevin MacDonald, and produced by Bob Marley’s son Ziggy Marley, ‘Marley’ focuses on the life, music, and legacy of Bob Marley. I’ve been keeping a keen eye on this film, for me Bob Marley was without a doubt one of the greatest artists, visionaries, and champions of freedom of the 20th century. His timeless music had a timeless message. A message of solace, peace, love, unity, and one that defiantly rejected injustice and oppression. Running at 144 minutes, ‘Marley’ features interviews with Bob Marley’s children, his wife Rita, close friends, and bandmates, as well as concert footage. ‘Marley’ is set for release April 20th. Check out my interview with Kevin Macdonald, Rohan Marley and Neville Garrick for ‘Marley’ here.

Directed by Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play), it is a documentary on the life, music, and legacy of legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician, Bob Marley. The film was premiered at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival, and set to hit SXSW Festival which will run from 8th – 13th March 2012 in Austin, Texas.

It is the first feature backed by the Marley family as well as the legend’s longtime music label head Chris Blackwell which should make for the most insightful look at his life yet as it follows “the musician, revolutionary and legend from his earliest days to his rise to international superstardom” using rare footage, archival photos and incredible performances and interviews with his family, friends and bandmates. Blackwell executive produces alongside Marley’s son, Ziggy.
