65th Annual Cannes Film Festival Line-up Announced
The Cannes Film Festival, the swankiest and most prestigious International film festival has this morning announced the line up for its 65th annual event which runs from May 16th – May 27th. Year after year, the world’s most influential and critically acclaimed directors debut their new films at the festival, this year is no different with the likes of Jacques Audiard’s ‘Rust & Bone,’ the latest from Audiard, whose ‘A Prophet’ won the Grand Prix in 2009, Wes Anderson’s ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ opening the festival, Abbas Kiarostami’s ‘Like Someone in Love,’ Matteo Garrone’s ‘Reality,’ John Hillcoat’s Prohibition-era drama ‘Lawless,’ Andrew Dominik’s Brad Pitt-starring ‘Killing Them Softly,’ David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis,’ with Robert Pattinson, Lee Daniels’ erotic thriller ’The Paper Boy,’ Ken Loach’s ‘The Angels’ Share,’ and Derek Cianfrance’s ‘Blue Valentine’ followup, ‘The Place Beyond the Pines,’ starring Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, all making their bows at the festival. New films from Terrence Malick and Paul Thomas Anderson, which had been hoped to premiere in Cannes, were not completed in time.
