Following the huge success of ‘Fast Five’ financially and critically, more adrenaline filled action, car racing shenanigans, and manly pouts scowls were always going to be heading our way. Today Heat Vision reveal that ‘Haywire’ star Gina Carano, the MMA athlete-turned-actress, is in negotiations to join the cast of ‘Fast & Furious 6.’ The only details we have in regards to her potential role is that Carano will play a member of  Dwayne Johnson’s team. In ‘Fast & Furious 6,’ Paul Walker and Vin Diesel return as rogue heroes Brian O’Connor and Dominic Toretto, respectively, while Johnson is reprising his role as Diplomatic Security Service Agent Luke Hobbs. Carano gained rave review for her acting debut in ‘Haywire,’ which director Steven Soderbergh built around her. Carano went toe-to-toe in the film against such heavyweights as Michael Fassbender, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGregor and Michael Douglas.

‘Fast & Furious 6,’ the next installment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, has been scheduled for release May 24th, 2013. Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return to produce, while director Justin Lin is again helming the film. The end of ‘Fast Five’ teased the return of Eva Mendes and Michelle Rodriguez, so I’d image ‘Fast & Furious 6′ is likely to feature a HUGE cast if all are returning from ‘Fast Five.’ That film starred Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Elsa Pataky, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar. Expect further ‘Fast & Furious 6’ details soon.
