Legendary Pictures has just unveiled this new poster for their much-anticipated ‘Godzilla’ reboot, which closely follows a surprise screening of the first-look teaser trailer for the film at Comic-Con just hours ago. While there’s no word when, or even if we’ll be seeing the ‘Godzilla’ footage online, I’ve heard from a number of reliable sources who are at Comic-Con that it looked incredible. ShockTillYouDrop offer the following description for the ‘Godzilla’ teaser trailer: “The opening WB and Legendary logos are B&W with a font like original Japanese writing. The footage pans across a city that has been utterly destroyed. We hear a voice over a radio talking (the voice of Robert Oppenheimer) about the end of the world.  It looks like another giant creature’s body is in the wreckage. We hear the classic Godzilla scream from the smoke, we see something enormous. We’re following a camera up Godzilla’s back, showing his scales. We see his face, but it’s almost a silhouette.  It looks a LOT like the classic Godzilla design but with a slightly fatter face.”

Gareth Edwards, the director of the sci-fi movie ‘Monsters,’ is attached to direct the creature feature centered on the giant city-destroying and monster-fighting lizard, which is in development at Legendary Pictures. The screenplay from the film is by David Goyer, Max Borenstein and David Callaham.  Goyer has worked previously with Legendary Pictures on Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and the new Superman reboot ‘Man Of Steel.’ Personally, I loved what Gareth Edwards did with ‘Monsters,’ for me it was one of the most charming, visually stunning and thumbs-up worthy films of 2010. Considering what he done on ‘Monsters’ with an extremey tight budget (low six-figures), I’d love to see what he can produce with some serious $$$$$’s. Expect more details relating to ‘Godzilla’ soon.
