Following last weeks news that Johnny Depp, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe and Angela Lansbury were being eyed for writer/director Wes Anderson’s next project after ‘Moonrise Kingdom,’ Deadline today bring word that Johnny Depp has been cast in the film, which is now titled ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel.’ The project will be Depp’s first post-‘The Lone Ranger’ film, which he’s currently shooting for a July, 2013 release.

‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ will be both written and directed by Wes Anderson, with the filmmaker re-teaming with producers Scott Rudin and Steve Rales. Their recent project, ‘Moonrise Kingdom,’ is out in cinemas now and has been a huge success both critically and at the box office. While no other casting appointments have been confirmed at this moment in time, I’d expect the film to feature a number of Anderson’s regulars (Bill Murray, Owen Wilson) alongside some intriguing new names to his stable. Plot details for ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ are currently under lock and key. Look out for further details shortly.
