Following fantastic performances in ‘Magic Mike’ and Killer Joe,’ Deadline are reporting that Matthew McConaughey is the latest addition to Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street.’ McConaughey’s character, Mark Hanna, is the early boss and mentor of Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jordan Belfort.  Based on Belfort’s 1990 best-selling memoir of the same name, ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ brings Scorsese and DiCaprio together for their fifth feature collaboration. Besides McConaughey and DiCaprio, the films top-notch cast also includes Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, Kyle Chandler, Jon Bernthal, Jon Favreau, and Margot Robbie.

‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is lead by Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort, a man who experiences a dramatic rise on Wall Street, and gets lost in the drugs and other excess of a hard partying lifestyle that comes hand in hand with all that money. His downfall is precipitous, and he spent 22 months in jail before straightening out his life. Kye Chandler will play FBI agent Coleman, who built the case against Belfort and took him down. Jonah Hill plays Belfort’s close friend and business partner who’s persuaded by Belfort to quit his job in the furniture business to jump into volatile world of stocks. Jean Dujardin is in talks to play Jean-Jacques Handali, a suave Swiss banker involved in laundering illicit funds for the protagonists firm. Margot Robbie is playing the films female lead, Nadine, the wife of Belfort, while Jon Bernthal is playing a drug dealer and money launderer.

Terence Winter (The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire) adapted the screenplay for ‘The Wolf of Wall Street.’ Production on the film is slated to begin in August in New York. With a celebrated career now spanning six decades, Martin Scorsese is one of the most influential filmmakers in cinema history.
