The Hollywood Reporter bring word that Winona Ryder is set to join Jason Statham and James Franco in the upcoming action-thriller ‘Homefront,’ which Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls) will direct from a script by Sylvester Stallone. The story for ‘Homefront’ follows Phil Broker (Statham), an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town hoping to escape his past. However, he finds the town to be overrun with violence, drug traffickers and an evil meth magnate named Gator (Franco). To save his endangered family, retribution is now the only thing Broker seeks. Ryder will play a former biker chick partnered with Franco.

Child actor Izabela Vidovic is also boarding ‘Homefront’ as Jason Statham’s daughter. The film is expected to get underway September 24th in New Orleans with Sylvester Stallone, Kevin King Templeton and Rene Besson producing, and Avi Lerner and Trevor Short will executive produce. Stallone and Statham will next be seen in ‘The Expendables 2,’ which is out now. James Franco’s upcoming slate includes ‘The Iceman,’ ‘Lovelace,’ ‘Spring Breakers’ and ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful.’  Winona Ryder also stars alongside Franco in ‘The Iceman,’ plus she voiced a character in Tim Burton’s ‘Frankenweenie.’ Expect further details and casting additions for ‘Homefront’ soon.
