New Looks At Chris Pine & Kenneth Branagh On The Set Of ‘Jack Ryan’
The Hollywood Reporter has unleashed these four new pics from the set of Kenneth Branagh’s thriller ‘Jack Ryan.’ Scheduled for a December 25th, 2013 release, Chris Pine takes on the eponymous Tom Clancy character; who’s previously been played in novel-to-screen adaptations by Alec Baldwin in ’The Hunt for Red October,’ by Harrison Ford in both ’Patriot Games’ and ‘Clear and Present Danger,’ and finally by Ben Affleck in ‘The Sum of All Fears.’ The story for this film centers on ex-Marine and Moscow-based financial analyst Jack Ryan, who uncovers a plot by his employer to finance a terrorist attack designed to collapse the US economy. Ryan must race against time to save America and his wife (Keira Knightley).
Kenneth Branagh will be pulling double-duty as the film’s director and villain, while Kevin Costner stars as William Harper, a legendary CIA Field Agent. Adam Cozad and Anthony Peckham wrote the screenplay for this “Jack Ryan” reboot, while David Koepp penned the most recent draft. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing alongside Mace Neufeld and David Barron. David Ellison is executive producing the film. Branagh recently described the movie as “an original story that allows us to understand how Jack Ryan develops into a CIA analyst, before joining, and perhaps even joining, the CIA. It’s a very contemporary action thriller set in the here and now.”
