Anne Hathaway Anne Hathaway In Talks To Join Steven Spielbergs Robopocalypse

The Hollywood Reporter reveal that Anne Hathaway is in talks fo the female lead in Steven Spielberg big budget technothriller, ‘Robopocalypse.’ Drew Goddard’s (The Cabin in the Woods, Cloverfield, Lost) script for the film is based on Daniel H. Wilson’s epic novel about the human race’s attempt to survive an apocalyptic robot uprising. Although nothing is said to be official at this moment in time, Chris Hemsworth is linked to play the male lead in ‘Robopocalypse.’ Scheduled for a worldwide release on April 25th, 2014, the story is set in the near future and tells the story of an artificial intelligence named Archos who assumes the persona of an innocent boy and takes over control of the global network, turning our own technology against us.

The futuristic ‘Robopocalypse’ is being co-produced by DreamWorks and Fox, with Disney handling domestic distribution and Fox taking care of foreign. The synopsis for Daniel H. Wilson’s ‘Robopocalpse’ novel is as follows: They are in your house. They are in your car. They are in the skies…Now they’re coming for you. In the near future, at a moment no one will notice, all the dazzling technology that runs our world will unite and turn against us. Taking on the persona of a shy human boy, a childlike but massively powerful artificial intelligence known as Archos comes online and assumes control over the global network of machines that regulate everything from transportation to utilities, defense and communication. In the months leading up to this, sporadic glitches are noticed by a handful of unconnected humans – a single mother disconcerted by her daughter’s menacing “smart” toys, a lonely Japanese bachelor who is victimized by his domestic robot companion, an isolated U.S. soldier who witnesses a ‘pacification unit’ go haywire – but most are unaware of the growing rebellion until it is too late. When the Robot War ignites — at a moment known later as Zero Hour — humankind will be both decimated and, possibly, for the first time in history, united.
