With the debut trailer for ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ scheduled to land online this Thursday, Entertainment Weekly has revealed this first look image at Lily Collins as Clary Fray in the adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s best-selling young adult fantasy book. Directed by Harald Zwart (The Karate Kid remake), the cast listing also includes Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Valentine Morgernstern, Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace Wayland, Robert Sheehan as Simon Lewis, Lena Headey as Jocelyn Fray, Jared Harris as Hodge Starkweather, Kevin Zegers as Alec Lightwood, Jemima West as Isabelle Lightwood, Godfrey Gao as Magnus Bane, Kevin Durand as Emil Pangborn, Robert Maillet as Samuel Blackwell, Aidan Turner as Luke Garroway, and CCH Pounder as Madame Dorothea. ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ is pencilled in for a August 23rd, 2013 release.

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons.
