20th Century Fox has unveiled these two featurettes for Ang Lee’s ‘Life of Pi,’ focusing on the CG tiger Richard Parker and the films 3D experience. Adaptated from the acclaimed novel of the same name by Yann Martel, the magical adventure story follows the precocious son of a zookeeper, Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel (Pi Patel), an Indian boy from Pondicherry who has an encyclopedic knowledge of animal behavior and a fervent love of stories. When Pi is sixteen, his family emigrates from India to North America aboard a Japanese cargo ship, along with their zoo animals bound for new homes. The ship sinks. Pi finds himself alone in a lifeboat, his only companions a hyena, an orangutan, a wounded zebra, and Richard Parker, a 450-pound Bengal tiger. ‘Life of Pi’ arrives in cinemas November 21st in the US and December 20th in the UK. The film stars Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Adil Hussain, Rafe Spall and Gerard Depardieu.
