New ‘Les Misérables’ Featurette On Hugh Jackman’s Jean Valjean

Working Title Films and Universal Pictures have unleashed, via Yahoo! Movies, this excellent “Hugh Jackson Is Jean Valjean” featurette for Tom Hooper’s (The King’s Speech) adaptation of Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel and subsequent stage musical, ‘Les Misérables.’ Featuring interviews with Tom Hooper, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Colm Wilkinson, Jackman and producer Cameron Mackintosh describing the Golden Globe nominated stars transformation into Prisoner #24601, the behind-the-scenes video also provides us with some great on set footage and new peaks at the eagerly awaited film.

Les Misérables’ features a truly stellar cast in Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Samantha Barks as Eponine, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, Daniel Huttlestone as Gavroche, Sacha Baron Cohen as Monsieur Thenardierto, and Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thénardier. The film lands in cinemas on December 25th in the US and January 11th in the UK.

In ‘Les Misérables,’ Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), a Frenchman imprisoned for stealing bread, has broken his parole and must flee from police Inspector Javert (Russell Crowe). The pursuit consumes both men’s lives, and after two decades on the run, Valjean finds himself in the midst of the 1832 June Rebellion in Paris.
