megan fox 2013

In somewhat surprising news, Michael Bay has took to his official website to reveal that Megan Fox is the first cast member to join Platinum Dune’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ movie, ‘Ninja Turtles.’ The director of the ‘Transformers’ franchise posted the following on his website: “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”

In 2007, Megan Fox played the lead female role of Mikaela Banes in Michael Bay’s 2007 live-action film ‘Transformers,’ based on the toy and cartoon saga of the same name. Fox reprised her role in the Transformers sequel, ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,’ and was set to star in the third installment, ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon,’ but dropped out after publicly feuding  with Bay. With this ‘Ninja Turtles’ casting news it seems that they’ve both put their differences to one side

While Megan Fox’s specific role in the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ reboot has not been disclosed, it’s likely that she’ll be playing April O’Neil, reporter and ally to the sewer-dwelling heroes Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael as well as their master, Splinter.  Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form are producing ‘Ninja Turtles,’ while Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles, Wrath of the Titans) is on-board to direct. A May 16th, 2014 release date is being eyed for the film. Expect more concrete ‘Ninja Turtles’ news soon.

UPDATE: Heat Vision confirm that Megan Fox will play April O’Neil, the human friend of the Ninja Turtles. Sources say Fox and Bay reconciled over a series of recent meetings and that one tete-a-tete that won her over was with director Jonathan Liebesman, who wowed her with the storyboards, according to insiders. The movie is in the casting stage and last week was testing actors, mostly relative unknowns, for the part of the Ninjas – Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael – which will be motion-captured.
