batman vs superman man of steel the dark knight Dark Knight Vs. Man Of Steel Painting Featuring Christian Bales Batman & Henry Cavills Superman

Charles Logan has drawn this stellar crossover painting centering on Henry Cavill’s Superman and Christian Bale’s Batman. Charles’ description for the piece is as follows: “The Dark Knight versus The Man Of Steel. As you might have noticed they are in their respective live action Nolan / Snyder outfits. I thought it’d be a nice take to see. This piece was pretty much inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel and its animation adaption (which is done very beautifully, mind you). Hence why Batman’s armor looks more metallic than rubbery. The pose reference is from Jim Lee’s Hush. The Characters of Batman and Superman belong to DC Comics.”

Alongside Henry Cavill in the dual role of Superman/Clark Kent, the key cast for ‘Man of Steel’ includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Kevin Costner as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive mother Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Antje Traue as Faora, Ayelet Zurer as Superman’s Kryptonian mother Lara Lor-Van, Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Michael Kelly as Steve Lombard, Richard Shiff as Dr. Emil Hamilton,  and Russell Crowe as Jor-El; Superman’s Kryptonian father.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Set to hit 2D, 3D and IMAX cinemas on June 14th, ‘Man of Steel’ is from director Zack Snyder and producers Charles Roven, Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay was written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight trilogy), based upon the iconic Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics.

‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ the conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, is currently the 8th highest grossing movie of all time at the worldwide box office with earnings of $1,081,041,287 billion. The two previous Dark Knight instalments, ‘Batman Begins’ and ‘The Dark Knight,’ ended their theatrical runs at $372,710,015 and $1,001,921,825 global totals, respectively. ’The Dark Knight Rises’ saw Christian Bale returning to the dual role of Bruce Wayne and Batman alongside series regulars Commissioner Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman), Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), and Alfred (Michael Caine). Newcomers to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy included Tom Hardy’s Bane, Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s John Blake, Marion Cotillard’s Miranda Tate, Matthew Modine’s Foley, and Ben Mendelsohn’s Daggett.  The story for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is set eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face’s crimes in ‘The Dark Knight.’ It sees the Caped Crusader resurface to protect a city that brands him an enemy as a new terrorist leader, Bane, overwhelms Gotham’s finest.
