While the film is out now in the UK and in Los Angeles and New York in the US, Fox Searchlight has today unveiled this red band trailer for Wes Anderson’s ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ before it expands into more cinemas this week in North America. In the US, the film broke the record for the highest-grossing limited live-action debut of all time. The comedy-drama opened in four theaters on Friday, and averaged more than $200,000 per theater, overtaking the Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master,’ which averaged $147,000. ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ will screen in more than 1,000 screens over the next five weeks as it slowly expands. The stellar cast for ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ includes Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Owen Wilson, Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Saoirse Ronan, Tom Wilkinson, Mathieu Amalric, F Murray Abraham, Bob Balaban and Tony Revolori. ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ tells of a legendary concierge (Ralph Fiennes) at a famous European hotel between the wars and his friendship with a young employee (Tony Revolori) who becomes his trusted protégé. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and the slow and then sudden upheavals that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th century.
