hans zimmer1 Hans Zimmer Talks About Scoring Batman Vs Superman; Sounds Poised To Return

Speaking to Digital Spy on the promotional rounds for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2,’ Hans Zimmer confirmed that he’s been asked him to return for the follow-up to ‘Man of Steel,’ the tentatively titled ‘Batman vs. Superman.’ He’ll reportedly begin working on it once he completes the score for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar.’ “We’ve already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas.”

Given that Hans Zimmer scored Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, the Grammy and Academy Award winning composer also reiterated his concern over simply repeating Batman’s theme from those movies, and touched on the pressures of coming up with something fresh for this new take on the Caped Crusader. “That’s my problem, that’s my dilemma. I don’t want to betray, if that’s the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian [Bale], it was Christian’s role. It’s not just that it was nine years of our lives, so you want to stay honest and honourable to that period. So it’s really about, ‘Is there something else I can find that I haven’t tapped into?’ Which I don’t know until I sit down with Zack.”

To date, ‘Batman vs. Superman’ stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Holly Hunter. The new film is currently being written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder are producing, with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. With production to commence any day now, the film is set for a May 6th, 2016 release date.
