While he’s also rumored for the second season of HBO’s ‘True Detective,’ Taylor Kitsch has reportedly been offered the lead in the English-language remake of Gareth Evans’ cult action flick, ‘The Raid.’ Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) is set to the film, which is eyeing a January 2015 shoot. Coincidentally, that is when the second season of ‘True Detective’ is slated to wrap filming.

With ‘Out of the Furnace’ writer Brad Ingelsby on screenwriting duties, the remake is said to have a similar storyline. ‘The Raid 2′ opened earlier this year to critical acclaim and a glowing response from fans.
Well, this came out of the blue. According to a new report, the adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ is finally happening. The project has been in development for a number of years, with David O. Russell originaly eyed to direct, Natalie Portman starring and Lionsgate distributing. But reportedly the script took too long to develop the proper tone, leading to Russell and Portman exiting because of scheduling conflicts. After those two left, the project went through a revolving door of directors including Mike White and Craig Gillespie, while actresses such as Scarlett Johansson, Mia Wasikowska, Lily Collins, Emma Stone and Anne Hathaway were all linked to star.
From Entertainment One comes this new behind-the-scenes featurette for Michael Dowse’s (Goon, It’s All Gone Pete Tong) upcoming romantic comedy ‘What If’ (formerly titled ‘The F Word’). Set for an August 8th release in the US and an August 2oth bow in the UK, the film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, Adam Driver, Rafe Spall, Megan Park, Mackenzie Davis and Oona Chaplin.
‘What If’ tells the story of medical school dropout Wallace (Radcliffe), who’s been repeatedly burned by bad relationships. So while everyone around him, including his roommate Allan (Driver) seems to be finding the perfect partner (Davis), Wallace decides to put his love life on hold. It is then that he meets Chantry (Kazan) an animator who lives with her longtime boyfriend Ben (Spall). Wallace and Chantry form an instant connection, striking up a close friendship. Still, there is no denying the chemistry between them, leading the pair to wonder, what if the love of your life is actually your best friend?
Just last week, Sony Pictures announced that they’ve updated their release schedule for the ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ franchise. First up, while ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3′ had originally been set for June 10th, 2016, the studio sent word that the third installment in the series will now open in 2018 – a full four years after this year’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ The next film in the franchise will now be ‘Sinister Six,’ writer-director Drew Goddard’s villain team-up. That film will hit theaters on November 11th, 2016.
Focus Features has unveiled this new image from the Stephen Hawking drama ‘Theory of Everything.’ Starring Eddie Redmayne as Hawking, the film is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (Man on Wire). The movie explores the excitement of the 1960s for Stephen as he studies at Cambridge University. At the dawn of a brilliant life’s work, he falls passionately in love with arts student Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones). Their relationship leads him through personal and scientific challenges and breakthroughs, and as his world opens up he opens up the entire world to new ways of seeing.
The main cast for Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s long awaited sequel includes the original ‘Sin City’ cast members: Mickey Rourke as Marv, Jessica Alba as Nancy, Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Rosario Dawson as Gail and Jaime King as Goldie/Wendy. New cast members for the neo-noir crime action thriller include: Eva Green as Ava Lord, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny, Dennis Haysbert as Manute, Christopher Meloni as Mort, Jeremy Piven as Bob, Stacy Keach as Wallenquist, Jamie Chung as Miho, Ray Liotta as Joey, Juno Temple as Sally, Julia Garner as Marcy, and Josh Brolin as Dwight.
