International Poster For ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’
May 21st
This new Russian poster has emerged online for Timur Bekmambetov’s upcoming film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s best-selling horror mashup, ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.’ In the vampire-slaying re-imagining of the iconic sixteenth president of the United States, Benjamin Walker stars as the titular Abraham Lincoln, while Anthony Mackie plays the role of Will – Abe’s best friend. Dominic Cooper plays the president’s mentor and teacher in the story, a mythic, ageless figure named Henry Sturgess who turns Lincoln into an axe-throwing expert slayer of vampires. Mary Elizabeth Winstead portrays Mary Todd Lincoln – Abe’s wife. ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ is set for release June 22nd in the US and August 2nd in the UK. Source: KinoGallery.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter explores the secret life of our greatest President, and the untold story that shaped our nation. Visionary filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov (director of Wanted) bring a fresh and visceral voice to the blood-thirsty lore of the vampire, imagining Lincoln as history’s greatest hunter of the undead. The screenplay is by Seth Grahame-Smith, based on his novel of the same name.
Wes Anderson Interview For ‘Moonrise Kingdom’
May 21st
‘Moonrise Kingdom’ is the new movie directed by two-time Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Rushmore). Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore – and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in every which way. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff, Captain Sharp. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader, Scout Master Ward. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bishop. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Bob Balaban; and introduces Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as Sam and Suzy, the boy and girl. Released on May 25th, ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ marks Wes Anderson’s first live-action film since 2007′s ‘The Darjeeling Limited.’
I really enjoyed the performances of Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as these two 12-year-olds. How did you cast them?
Wes Anderson: I’ve done a number of movies that feature children, or young people, in pretty large roles. I always try to start that process of searching very early, and I think we had maybe eight months or ten months of time to search. The thing that you always hope and trust that is going to happen when you’re casting, you’re waiting for the moment of, “There it is!” So that you can shut down the search for the characters, and that happened both with Jared and Kara. Jared, it was really his personality. His interview after the audition, more than even his read. He was very good in his audition, but he made me laugh and I was very charmed by him immediately. And then Kara, on the other hand, it was a scene I had seen played over and over and over in auditions, but the way she played it, it was as if she was making up the dialogue herself. With both of them it was really instantaneous.

“Chernobyl Diaries” is an original story from Oren Peli, who first terrified audiences with his groundbreaking thriller, “Paranormal Activity.” The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone…

Awesome Fan-Made Poster For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’
May 19th
Seeing as the release of Christopher Nolan’s hugely-anticipated conclusion to his Batman trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ is just 61 days away (not like I’m counting or anything), expect Warner Bros promotional campaign onslaught for the film to move into high gear in the coming weeks. While we await new official promo material for the film, I’ve come across this stellar fan-made poster for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ by Messenjahmatt, featuring Christian Bale’s Batman in front of a pulverised Gotham City. The plot for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is currently being kept under wraps. Judging by the latest theatrical trailer and the previous two films, I think it’s safe to say that we can expect something E P I C. For me, Sergio Leone’s western trilogy ‘A Fistful of Dollars,’ ‘For a Few Dollars More’ and ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ is the only other trilogy I can think of that might fit the “original < sequel < threequel” pattern. Fingers crossed ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ will also!
‘The Dark Knight Rises’ stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate. Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown co-star. ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is scheduled for release July 20th. Christopher Nolan directs the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan. The production notes for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ are below.
