Hazel (Shailene Woodley) and Gus (Ansel Elgort) are two extraordinary teenagers who share an acerbic wit, a disdain for the conventional, and a love that sweeps them – and us – on an unforgettable journey. Their relationship is all the more miraculous, given that they met and fell in love at a cancer support group. The film – also starring Willem Dafoe, Nat Wolff, Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Mike Birbiglia and Emily Peachey – explores the funny, thrilling and tragic business of being alive and in love. Josh Boone directs from a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (500 Days of Summer).
Based on John Green’s acclaimed best-seller of the same name, ‘The Fault in our Stars’ opened this weekend in North America to a hefty $48.2 million at the Box Office. Opening on June 19th in the UK and Ireland, the romantic comedy-drama was made for roughly $12 million, so its already made a bucket load of money – drinks are on 20th Century Fox! Check out what Shailene Woodley had to say about the film below.
I understand this book and this script for ‘The Fault in our Stars’ grabbed you immediately — you even sent John Green a long email about how much you loved the book and how you had to play Hazel. But what in particular was it about the story that gave you that passion and made you want to play Hazel?
Shailene Woodley: I did (laughs). I read the book and I pretty much decided that I would do anything I could to be a part of this movie. It was truly one of the biggest honors of my life to be a part of this movie. I just thought the universal messages were so important and so integral for humanity to hear these days. And if we’re able to take such a beautiful lesson and deliver it to the world in an artistic form such as through visual media… very rarely do you go to movies and feel like your world has been completely rocked for the better. I was so profoundly moved reading the script and the book, and I felt like that myself.

New TV Spot For Scott Derickson’s Horror ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ – Starring Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn…
Sony Pictures has unveiled this latest TV spot for ‘Deliver us from Evil,’ which comes from ‘Sinister’ and ‘Exorcism of Emily Rose’ writer-director Scott Derickson. Formerly known under the title ‘Beware the Night,’ the film stars the likes of Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris and Joel McHale. ‘Deliver us from Evil’ is the story of a New York cop (Bana) who meets a renegade priest (Ramírez) when he is pulled into a case which the priest convinces him, against the officer’s religious beliefs, is demonic related. Together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them. The film opens on July 2nd in the US and August 22nd in the UK.
In DELIVER US FROM EVIL, New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramírez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Inspired by the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.
After Edgar Wright departed ‘Ant-Man’ late last month, my enthusiasm for the film automatically diminished. Now comes word from Marvel that Peyton Reed (Yes Man, Bring It On, The Break-Up) will direct the ‘Ant-Man’… consider my enthusiasm diminished further… a lot further. Marvel also announced that Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers, The Other Guys) will be “contributing” to the film’s script. The newly released official synopsis for ‘Ant-Man’ is as follows:
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Out and about on the promotional campaign for his new AMC drama ‘Halt and Catch Fire,’ Lee Pace shed some light on ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ the film that introduces him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ronan the Accuser. Glimpsed briefly in the new trailer, Ronan has been officially described as follows by the studio: “A Kree radical, Ronan continues to fight an ancient war between his people and the Xandarians. Ronan has struck a bargain with the Machiavellian Thanos — retrieve a mysterious artifact, and in exchange Xandar will finally be eradicated. Ronan leads his army to hunt down Peter Quill and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy when they come between him and his genocidal goal.”
