New Trailer For David Cronenberg‘s ‘Maps To The Stars’ – Starring Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson, John Cusack…
David Cronenberg’s ‘Maps to the Stars’ is a contemporary tale exploring the demons of celebrity obsession in our society. John Cusack plays L.A. psychotherapist and life coach Stafford Weiss who has made his fortune with self-help books promising happiness. His wife Cristina (Williams) is the overbearing manager of their 13-year-old son, Benjie (Bird), a TV star and recent drug rehab grad. Their estranged daughter, Agatha (Wasikowska), has just been released from a psychiatric hospital and befriends limo driver and aspiring actor Jerome (Pattinson). Among Stafford’s celebrity clients is Havana Segrand (Moore), a fading star who dreams of reprising her late mother Clarice’s (Gadon) starring role. Ambitions, ghosts, death, and all manner of vices bedevil the cast of characters.
This first trailer and poster has arrived online from ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown,’ the upcoming meta-remake of the 1976 film of the same name. ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown’ is produced by Ryan Murphy of Ryan Murphy Productions (Glee, Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story) and Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) for MGM, and the film is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story) in his feature-length directorial debut.
Following the events of the low-budget 1976 slasher, ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown’ picks up decades after the Phantom Killer terrorized rural Texarkana when the murders start again and a teenager (Addison Timlin) finds herself in the killer’s sights. Charles B Pierce’s 1976 film was set in 1946, based on the true story of a murderer terrorising the streets of Texarkana, Arkansas. The sequel is set 65 years after the original and will premiere at Austin’s Fantastic Fest next week. ‘The Town That Dreaded Sundown’ will screen at the London Film Festival on October 14th and open in the on October 16th.

The 58th BFI London Film Festival send word that they’ve made an addition to the Festival Events programme, with The Daily Show host Jon Stewart and political journalist Maziar Bahari discussing the important roles of journalism and satire in upholding freedom of speech. The “Screen Talk” event will take place on October 12th at the Vue West End Cinema, at 20.45. This follows the European Premiere of Jon Stewart’s striking directorial debut ‘Rosewater’ at the Odeon West End, at 18.00. The 58th BFI London Film Festival runs from October 8th to October 19th. “Enter The Maze” Featurette For ‘The Maze Runner’ – Starring Dylan O’Brien, Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen…
From 20th Century Fox comes this latest behind-the-scenes featurette for Wes Ball’s adaptation of James Dashner’s post-apocalyptic novel, ‘The Maze Runner.’ The story centers on a teenage boy who wakes up in a strange community remembering only his first name. He soon learns they are part of a mysterious test, and finds it is his destiny to join the ‘maze runners’ and lead them to freedom. The story follows his and his fellow prisoners’ struggle to unlock the secrets of the maze that surrounds this mysterious community. Starring Dylan O’Brien, Will Poulter, Kaya Scodelario, Aml Ameen, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Jacob Latimore and Ki Hong Lee, ‘The Maze Runner’ is set to hit cinemas on October 10th in the UK and on September 19th in the US.
Earlier this year it was first reported that ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill are set reunite on a 20th Century Fox project titled ‘The Ballad Of Richard Jewell,’ which is based on Marie Brenner’s 1997 Vanity Fair article ‘American Nightmare: The Ballad Of Richard Jewell’ (you can read it here). Today we hear that that the project may have found a director in Paul Greengrass (United 93, The Bourne Ultimatum, Captain Phillips). At this moment in time Greengrass is said to be circling the real-life drama, but has not yet made a commitment. His ‘Captain Phillips’ screenwriter Billy Ray is writing the script for ‘The Ballad Of Richard Jewell.’
