According to Variety, Sony Pictures has acquired the rights to Max Brooks’ eagerly awaited graphic novel ‘The Harlem Hellfighters.’ Brooks is perhaps best known for his 2006 apocalyptic horror novel ’World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War,’ which deals with the war between the human race and zombies. Last year the movie version, which was lead by Brad Pitt, received positive reviews and was a commercial success, grossing over $540 million against a production budget of $190 million. Two sequels are in the works.
Set to be published in April, ‘The Harlem Hellfighters’ centers on the 369th Infantry Regiment, an African-American regiment from Harlem, New York, that fought in France during World War I. Breaking down racial barriers, the unit spent more time in combat than any other American unit, never losing a foot of ground to the enemy, or a man to capture, and went on to win countless decorations. Though they returned to the US as heroes, the unit faced tremendous discrimination. The graphic novel was illustrated by Caanan White. Max Brooks will also adapt the script.

Yahoo! Movies has debuted this US trailer for Jim Jarmusch’s (Broken Flowers, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Dead Man) brilliant crypto-vampire love story ’Only Lovers Left Alive.’ ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’ is lead by Tom Hiddleston as Adam, an underground musician who’s deeply depressed by the direction of human activities.
