From Warner Bros. Pictures comes this official image of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ From ‘Man of Steel’ helmer Zack Snyder, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ also stars Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Scoot McNairy, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Expect more news about ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and further DC movies this weekend at Comic-Con.
From The Weinstein Company comes these two posters for Ned Benson’s ‘The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby.’ The romantic drama was actually crafted as two separate movies, each focusing on the entirety of a relationship between two people. One version, which they call “Him”, showed it from the husband’s (James McAvoy) vantage point, while a second film, “Her”, explored it from the perspective of the wife (Jessica Chastain).
The version released theatrically will follow the more traditional form, from both perspectives, and clock in at two hours. All three versions will be released by The Weinstein Company in some form this fall. “Them” will premiere in the US on September 26th while “Him and “Her” will be released about a month after in select art house cinemas. No word on international release dates as yet. The likes of William Hurt, Viola Davis, Bill Hader, Jess Weixler, Ciaran Hinds, Isabelle Huppert and Nina Arianda co-star.
With Marvel’s Saturday night Comic-Con panel sure to be chock-full with announcements and surprises, The Wrap are reporting that three-time Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix is being eyed for the role of Doctor Strange for the studio. While we don’t yet have an official release date for the Doctor Strange movie (I think an announcement this weekend is pretty much a certainty at this point), it was recently revealed that ‘Sinister’ and ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’ helmer Scott Derrickson is set to direct the film. With Marvel having two mystery “Phase 3″ projects set for July 8th, 2016 and May 5th, 2017, fans have long speculated that one of these films will focus on Doctor Strange. Of course, the studio announced earlier this week further dates to their schedule, so perhaps the Doctor Strange film is even further in the distance than those two aforementioned dates?
