Second French Poster For Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree Of Life’ – Starring Brad Pitt & Sean Penn
Apr 13th
This new French poster has been released online for Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree Of Life’ – by a stretch my most anticipated film of 2011. Malick’s films are continuously deeply philosophical and rich. Since his debut film ‘Badlands’ in 1973, Malick has only made three other films, ‘Days Of Heaven,’ ‘The Thin Red Line’ and ‘The New World.’ From what I’ve seen so far I’m supremely confident his fifth will be as amazing, if not more so. The film is set for release May 18th in France, and May 27th in the US.
From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950’s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life. The Tree Of Life is set for release May 27th, 2011.
New Trailer For ‘Priest’ – Starring Paul Bettany, Karl Urban & Cam Gigandet
Apr 12th

Sony Pictures (via Yahoo) have unleashed this new full-theatrical trailer for Scott Stewart’s upcoming fantasy horror ‘Priest.’ I’ve got a soft spot for apocalyptic, monster-filled flicks – ‘Priest’ ticks all those boxes. It’s also refreshing seeing vampires that don’t bloody sparkle! ‘Priest’ will be hitting cinemas May 11th in the UK and May 13th in the US.
Priest is set in a world ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. Paul Bettany is Priest, a legendary warrior priest during the last Vampire War, who now lives in obscurity among the other human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities controlled by the Church. But when his 18-year-old niece is abducted by a murderous pack of vampires in the desolate wastelands outside, Priest breaks his sacred vows and ventures out to find her and seek vengeance upon those responsible, especially their brutal leader (Karl Urban). Priest is joined on his crusade by his niece’s boyfriend, Hicks (Cam Gigandet), a local outpost sheriff, and Priestess (Maggie Q), a member of his former legion of vampire-killers who has otherworldly fighting skills.
New International Trailer For Matthew Vaughn’s ‘X-Men: First Class’ – Starring Michael Fassbender & James McAvoy
Apr 10th

Jeezum crowbars this looks awesome! This international trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s (Kick Ass, Layer Cake) ‘X-Men: First Class’ is the non-dubbed version of the Russian trailer that was released for the film last month. Out of all the comic book-inspired flicks released this summer this is the one I’m looking forward to most. ‘X-Men: First Class’ is set for release June 3rd 2011. Source: Comingsoon.
”X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.”
Jessica Biel To Star Opposite Colin Farrell In ‘Total Recall’?
Apr 9th
Variety have caught wind that Jessica Biel is circling one of the two lead female roles opposite Colin Farrell in Len Wiseman’s remake of ‘Total Recall.’ The project is said to be a ‘contemporized adaptation’ of the 1990 Arnold Schwarzenegger genre classic, which was based on the Philip K. Dick story, “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale”.
The two female leads in the original movie, Lori and Melina, were played by Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin respectively. Apparently early word was that Biel was going after Melina, however Variety now say that there’s a chance she’s going after Lori. Eva Mendes’s name has been attached to the role of Melina in the past. ‘Total Recall’ is scheduled to hit cinemas August 3rd, 2012.

Fox Searchlight/Summit International have created this viral website Two Ways Through Life for Terrence Malick’s ‘The Tree Of Life’ – by a stretch my most anticipated film of 2011. The site presents “the life journey of a young boy” as split into two paths – “the father’s way” and “the mother’s way,” featuring brief clips, images and descriptions.
Malick’s films are continuously deeply philosophical and rich. Since his debut film ‘Badlands’ in 1973, Malick has only made three other films (Days Of Heaven, The Thin Red Line and The New World). I’m supremely confident his fifth will be as amazing, if not more so. The film is set for release May 4th in the UK, and May 27th in the US
