New Poster For Catherine Hardwicke’s ‘Red Riding Hood’ – Starring Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman & Max Irons
Jan 13th
Catherine Hardwicke’s (Twilight, Thirteen) upcoming fairy tale adaptation of ‘Red Riding Hood’ has found itself this new poster. To be honest it doesn’t really tickle my fancy. Red Riding Hood is said to be a dark retelling of the classic story, filled with love triangles, demons, obsession and of course werewolves. The film features a quality cast in the lovely Amanda Seyfried, the legendary Gary Oldman, Max Irons, Virginia Madsen, Shiloh Fernandez, Julie Christie and Lukas Haas. Red Riding Hood comes to cinemas March 11th, 2011.
In “Red Riding Hood,” Seyfried plays Valerie, a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon’s arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. As panic grips the town, Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast–one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect…and bait.

First Look At ‘Red Riding Hood’ – Starring Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman & Max Irons
Nov 12th
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has given us our first glance at Catherine Hardwicke’s upcoming fairy tale adaptation ‘Red Riding Hood’. The film is said to be a dark retelling of the classic story, filled with love triangles, demons, obssession and of course werewolves. The film features a quality cast in Amanda Seyfried (as Red Riding Hood/Valerie), Gary Oldman, Max Irons, Virginia Madsen, Shiloh Fernandez, Julie Christie and Lukas Haas. Red Riding Hood comes to cinemas March 11th, 2011. Hopefully a trailer will surface over the next few weeks.
“Amanda Seyfried dons the cape for Red Riding Hood. In a dark retelling of the famous children’s tale (out March 11, 2011), Seyfried stars as Valerie, a village girl torn between two loves (including Peter, left, played by Jericho’s Shiloh Fernandez). “I’ve never seen her like this in a role before,” raves director Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight). “She’s super sexy, wild. And those big eyes of hers are totally out of a fairy tale.” The threat of demons and werewolves further complications the love triangle, along with a priest (Gary Oldman) obsessed with ridding his village of evil, and townspeople hiding their own secrets and lies. “There’s a strong whodunit through the whole thing,” says Hardwicke. “So it’s got the weird, interesting parts of Grimm’s fairy tale and then so much more.”
Dear John Trailer – In UK Cinemas 14th April
Mar 24th
I attended the screening for this on Tuesday but I can’t tell you what I thought until nearer the release date, Momentum/Paramount will send their Ninja Monkey’s to take me out if I do. (Believe me, they have Ninja Monkey’s that can fly and run up walls). Check out the trailer in the mean time!
Fall in love with Channing Tatum (Step-Up, GI Joe) in this year’s most romantic tear jerker Dear John. It’s love at first sight for John (Tatum) and college student Savannah (Mamma Mia’s Amanda Seyfried) when they meet by chance on the beach during a summer holiday. But their romance is threatened as the holiday ends, Savannah has to go back to college and John must return to life in the army and all that his duty entails. Brought together by love, will fate tear them apart?
Amanda Seyfried Interview For Chloe
Feb 18th

Below is my interview with Amanda Seyfried for the film ‘Chloe’ which is Directed by Atom Egoyan (great name) and also stars Liam Neeson (all around legend) and Julianne Moore (red head legend). Amanda plays the titular character an irresistible and alluring young woman who Julianne Moore’s character Catherine hires to see if her suspicions of her husbands (Liam Neeson) infidelity is in fact reality. Chloe’s seductive behaviour begins to obsess Catherine and events take an unpredictable turn with potentially fatal consequences for her family. Amongst a great cast Amanda’s performance was definitely the highlight of the film for me. Check out my interview with Julianne Moore here
What got you interested in the film?
Amanda Seyfried: Well I’m gonna say the challenge because I’m pretty young in my career and I haven’t had many opportunity’s to spread my wings, this is a pretty extraordinary role that I couldn’t resist. I couldn’t resist the challenge. Also working with Atom (director) was another selling point.
Did you find it difficult to relate to someone quite different to yourself?
Amanda Seyfried:Yeah, its funny because at first it was very hard to relate to her until I started taking in and absorbing what Atom was describing to me, we spoke at great lengths about Chloe and how she was dealing with different moments in film, it was so extensive. I felt overwhelmed at times with all the information, but I was able to absorb it all to a point I could really connect to her and fall in love with her, I really did like her. It was challenging, this character is so inconsistent throughout the movie it’s almost like I’m playing so many different characters in one, it was great playing that.

What was it like working with Julianne?
Amanda Seyfried: Working with Julianne was amazing, I’ve had the fortune to work with a few ridiculously talented actresses who’s work I have seen and obviously it doesn’t feel real sometimes. I learnt a lot though, she was great. It was the first time I’ve worked on a film working with someone like Julianne and I was really respected, I was treated like a pear, it was the first time, it was the best feeling in the world to feel like a equal.
How did you find doing the more intimate scenes?
Amanda Seyfried: It’s very technical when you have to do something physically intimate, so that’s what it was, Atom showed us exactly what he had in mind to make it as easy as possible and we just laughed, there were a lot of jokes (laughs).
Chloe is in cinemas the 5th of March.
