Henry Cavill Talks About Portraying Clark Kent/Superman In Zack Snyder’s Upcoming ‘Superman: Man Of Steel’
Apr 6th
While at WonderCon promoting his upcoming movie ‘Immortals,’ Henry Cavill spoke to MTV about his portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman in Zack Snyder’s 2012 Superman film. With regards to researching his role, Cavill says he’s been doing his homework:
“I’m just picking out as much as I possibly can from the comic book history because obviously it’s plastered across there as to who this man is and whatever part of his life you’re playing; whatever part of his ultimate journey you’re playing, you just need to put in either the building aspects, the building blocks to how he ends up, all those key characteristics that are carried through and so it’s just picking up a general idea of what he is and then working from there.”
Cavill also shed some light on the casting of Amy Adams as Lois Lane and whether the actor’s nearly ten year age difference was a factor in the film’s plot, Cavill said it was more a matter of happenstance.
“Yes, there was a screen test and she’s a fantastic actress. Very talented. I’m looking forward to working with her,” Cavill said. “To be honest, that’s a question for the director. But, happenstance,” explained Cavill, “I don’t think it matters at all.”
Look out for the film swooping into cinemas December 2012. To date ‘Superman: Man Of Steel’ stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane.
Amy Adams Talks About Portraying Lois Lane In Zack Snyder’s Upcoming Superman Movie
Mar 30th
Amy Adams recently opened up to Herocomplex with regards to her casting as Lois Lane, describing what she likes about the character and why she decided to undertake the role of the plucky reporter in Zack Snyder’s upcoming ‘Superman: Man Of Steel.’
“I think the role of women in society constantly changes. And what I love about Lois Lane is that she’s been very consistently strong, successful, independent. I’m very attracted to that. It was a time when women were really — I don’t want to make some grand statement because I know it will come across as a grand statement — but [women were often limited by society then and] what I loved about her was that she was able to be smart and be feminine and I think that that’s something I know I’m going to teach my daughter, that you don’t have to be a man to be powerful. You can be a powerful woman.”
In the much anticipated reboot Amy Adams will star alongside Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Kevin Costner as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane, who plays his wife Martha. Look out for the film swooping into cinemas December 2012.
Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane In Zack Snyder’s ‘Superman: Man Of Steel’
Mar 27th
Hero Complex have confirmed that multiple Academy Award nominee, Amy Adams, has been cast in the iconic role of the plucky journalist Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman movie, tentatively titled ‘Superman: Man Of Steel.’ She joins Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Kevin Costner as Superman/Clarke’s adoptive father Jonathan Kent, and Diane Lane, who plays his wife Martha.
The 36-year-old star got the news on Sunday from director Zack Snyder, who phoned her from Paris, where he was promoting his just-opened film, “Sucker Punch.” There had been a crush of Hollywood interest in the lead female role in the Warner Bros. project but Snyder said that after meeting with Adams, she was the clear choice to take on a character that dates back to 1938 and has long represented the strong, professional woman who can hold her own against any man – even if he can leap tall buildings in a single bound.
“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder said. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”
Look out for ‘Superman: Man of Steel’ swooping into cinemas December 2012.

Jan 26th
With The Fighter’s impending Febuary 2nd UK release date, and hot on the heels of the films seven Oscar nominations, here’s an interview with three time Oscar nominee Amy Adams to talk about the captivating drama. The movies Oscar nominations include Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Christian Bale), Best supporting actress (Melissa Leo and Amy Adams) and Best Director (David O Russell).
Did you have fun playing your character?
Amy Adams: She was a really fun character to play, not only because she’s tough but because she’s able to go toe to toe with this guy and hold her own and also be a sweetie for Micky.
What attracted you to playing the role of Charlene?
Amy Adams: Well initially it was David O Russell, he sent me twenty pages of the script, they were sort of writing Charlene and kind of beefing her up a little bit and he asked if I’d be interested in playing Charlene. I mean how could I say no, first half it was David O. Russell who I’d met and really had a great time talking to, and then knowing it was Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg, Melissa Leo, I was the last one to come on out of that group and I’d love them all, I’d met them at different times of my life and I just was very excited!
