Samantha Barks To Play Eponine In Tom Hooper’s ‘Les Misérables’

Deadline are reporting that Samantha Barks has landed the much coveted role of Eponine in Tom Hooper’s (The King’s Speech) live-action adaptation of Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel and stage musical ‘Les Misérables.’ While Barks is a newcomer to the big screen, she starred as Eponine in the London production of Les Misérables in 2010 and reprised the role in the 25th anniversary concert held at the O2 Arena last year. The cast for the film is top-notch, it features Russell Crowe as Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, and Eddie Redmayne as Marius. Both Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter are rumoured to be joining the musical epic as Monsieur Thenardierto and Madame Thénardier respectively. ‘Les Misérables’ is scheduled for release December 7th in the US, and January 11th in the UK.

Tom Hardy Speaks On Playing Bane In ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

On the promotional campaign for ‘This Means War,’ the The UK Press Association briefly spoke to Tom Hardy about playing Bane in the eagerly anticipated conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’: The actor has described the character as “brutal” and “heavy-handed”, but said that he had no problem separating himself from the role. ”I didn’t get into a dark place at all. A lot of dark characters are easy to have distance from, it’s something I feel comfortable with, I suppose.”
On the topic of wearing Bane’s mask, Hardy had the following to say: “Bane’s mask is tight, actually. I got used to it, but you get used to anything really, in time.”

Wireless Goodness has revealed a few details regarding the flying vehicle in the hugely anticipated conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ The craft, which has previously been referred to as the Batwing, is officially known as ‘The Bat.’ The news arrives through an FCC filing on the part of Hot Wheels and their upcoming set of toys to be released in tandem with the film.

In the article Christian Bale opened up about his last day in the Batsuit: “My last day in the suit was also the last day of shooting for me. I was in New York, on top of a downtown skyscraper. The day began with Morgan Freeman and then ended with Anee Hathaway. I got to say goodbye from within the batcowl. it was very quiet, just a couple people there. But in the midst of it, I said, ‘Hold on a sec. Let me take a moment. This is it. I’m never going to have this claustrophobia again!’ So I had to pause. I had to.
“It’s a fascintating thing, that suit, don’t you think? And since I am generally within it, I actually don’t get to see it that often. Not the way that other people do. Entertainment Weekly has unveiled this new look at Christian Bale as Batman for their cover story on ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ Christopher Nolan’s hugely anticipated conclusion to his Batman trilogy. In the article Bale discusses his hopes of matching the success of the previous two films: “I can tell you the truth because I’m done with it. I felt immense pressure. And I think it’s a good pressure, because you owe it to the films — and the people’s expectations — to make great work.”
Bale also speaks on Bane’s much talked about mask-muffled voice: “I think when people see the film, things will come into focus,” says the director. “Bane is very complex and very interesting and when people see the finished film people will be very entertained by him.”
