New Poster For The Upcoming Exorcism Movie ‘The Rite’ – Starring Anthony Hopkins
Nov 16th
Warner Bros have debuted this great new poster for the upcoming exorcism movie ‘The Rite’. The film is directed by Mikael Hafstrom (1408, Drowning Ghost, Derailed) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Colin O’Donoghue, Alice Braga, Ciaran Hinds, and Toby Jones. The trailer for this looked pretty sh*ttacular. I’ve come to the conclusion that when horror movies claim to be ‘inspired by a true story’, they tend to be turds….turds that are generally wildly entertaining! The Rite will hit cinemas January 28th, 2011.
Inspired by true events, “The Rite” follows skeptical seminary student Michael Kovak (Colin O’Donoghue), who reluctantly attends exorcism school at the Vatican. While in Rome, he meets an unorthodox priest, Father Lucas (Anthony Hopkins), who introduces him to the darker side of his faith. Directed by Mikael Hafstroem (“1408″), “The Rite” is a supernatural thriller that uncovers the devil’s reach to even one of the holiest places on Earth.
You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger Poster – Starring Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts & Freida Pinto
Sep 6th
Woody Allen’s forthcoming London-set black comedy You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger has been adorned with a new poster. The film features an exceptional cast that includes Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto, Antonio Banderas, Lucy Punch and Gemma Jones. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival where it was generally met with a big fat meh.
After Alfie leaves his wife Helena to pursue his lost youth and a free-spirited call girl named Charmaine, Helena abandons rationality and surrenders her life to the loopy advice of a charlatan fortune teller. happy in her marriage, Sally develops a crush on her handsome art gallery owner boss, Greg, while Roy, a novelist nervously awaiting the response to his latest manuscript, becomes moonstruck over Dia, a mystery woman who catches his gaze through a nearby window. Despite these characters’ attempts to dodge their problems with pipe dreams and impracticable plans, their efforts lead only to heartache, irrationality, and perilous hot water. Sony Pictures Classics will release You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger on September 22. It stars Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto, Antonio Banderas, Lucy Punch and Gemma Jones.
Thor Trailer From Comic Con Makes It Was Online
Jul 29th

By the beard of Zeus the hammer of Thor- the footage that was shown at Comic Con has now finally hit the internet (I’m pretty sure unofficially). Marvel look like they’re going all out it with this flick, it looks immensely ambitious. That’s probably the reason I’m pretty skeptimistic. It could either be completely awesome, or it could be ludicrous. I like what I see though.
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, “Thor,” which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth. Thor is Directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo, Stellan Skarsgard, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Josh Dallas, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Clark Gregg, Colm Feore.
First Image Of Anthony Hopkins & Tom Hiddleston In Thor. Marvel Also Confirm Thor Will Be 3D
Jul 14th

La Times: Hero Complex Blog have released the first official picture of Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Tom Hiddleston as Loki in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. To boot we also get our first look at Thor’s (Chris Hemswroth) hammer. Along with the photo comes the announcement that both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger will officially be going 3D. Thor also stars Darth Vader’s baby mama (Natalie Portman), Idris Elba, Stellan Skarsgard and Jaimie Alexander amongst a whole host of others. Check out the article for more information and to see what director Kenneth Branagh has to say about 3D. Below is a short quote from the story.
“We came to feel that in our case 3-D could be the very good friend of story and character for a different kind of experience,” Branagh said, taking a break from post-production. The filmmaker said the terminology of the 3-D process initially made him cringe — at first, it was “math and physics and way over my head,” he said with a chuckle — but then he started to pulse with the unexpected artistic opportunities.
Final Wolfman Poster. Finally Set For Release Febuary
Jan 24th
I’ve been looking forward to this for well over a year now, I almost gave up hope after the release date kept getting moved around, it was originally scheduled to be released all the way back in November 2008. Talk of re-shoots, the change of composer and the change of directors put a downer on this for me. The latest trailer and a couple clips brought back my faith though, I always enjoy Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins as well. After all this Twilight crap we need a good Wherewolf/monster film! I’ve got my fingers crossed I’m still not fully convinced though.
Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, THE WOLFMAN brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar® winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother…and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.
Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.
As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself…one he never imagined existed.
