Christopher Nolan To Mentor A New Superman Movie & Batman 3 In The Works
Feb 9th
Deadline Hollywood seem to have a big insider story every week. To they’re credit, what they report almost always comes into fruition, they’re pretty much consistently on the money$. The article reports Warner Brothers have turned to Christopher Nolan to mentor the development of a new Superman movie (he’s not writing or directing). He has reportedly been offered a ‘godfather’ role. ‘ Thankfully the article points out “It would definitely not be a follow-up to Superman Returns.” For me Superman Returns was a giant piece of horse turd, I’m happy Warner Brothers are going in another direction, having Christopher Nolan on board has to help, his streak of great films is unparalleled at the moment- Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and from what it looks like Inception.
The thing that really interested me about this piece was the fact that Christopher Nolan has ‘hatched an idea for Warner Bros’ third Batman instalment. ‘and that ‘his brother and frequent collaborator Jonah Nolan, and David Goyer who co-wrote Batman Begins and penned the story for The Dark Knight, are off scripting it.’ I CAN’T WAIT, I don’t know anyone who didn’t love The Dark Knight!
Batman 3 – Speculation: 4 Story’s We Would NOT Want To See!
Dec 7th
There has been so much speculation online about the various possibilities for the follow up to The Dark Knight, everything from Johnny Depp playing The Riddler, Phillip Seymour Hoffmon playing the Penguin, Harvey Dent still being alive and returning, Angelina Jolie playing the Catwomen and to worst of all Eddie Murphy playing The Riddler. Warner Brothers have given not one shred of information so far and all potential casting and story information has been pure rumours and speculation. I really doubt we will get any information regarding the next instalment of the Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise until Inception comes out mid 2010. Below I have discounted 4 plot outlines for the next instalment.

A Batman Christmas, the picture above is perfect evidence why this would be a very bad idea, also please no Robin everyone hates Robin

The Devil Wears Prada version of Batman, in which Batman aims to update his wardrobe with assistance from the cast of Sex And The City and Meryl Streep. Paris Hilton will ‘sing’ the theme song.

Batman goes the Brokeback Mountain route with Robin insisting ‘I wish I knew how to quit you.’

Batman The Sexist, Batman insists his girlfriend must stay in the kitchen and make him sandwich’s. He would also have an all out war on feminism, Catwomen will be the anti hero fighting for womens rights.
Batman 3 news/rumor

I don’t really like reporting rumours due to the fact that 90% of the time it’s just people making up stuff so that people check out their website but as a huge fan of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight this one perked my ears! According to batman-on-film there should be some sort announcement regarding Batman 3 January 2010, what they say is extremely vague and no official source was named so you can take from that what you want. I can imagine Warner Brothers would want to get this film rolling as soon as possible due to the massive success of The Dark Knight commercially, critically and from the audience itself. Christian Bale isn’t attached to any films at the moment (The Fighter finished filming a month or so back) and Christopher Nolan has almost finished shooting Inception (his top secret sci-fi action thriller ’set within the architecture of the mind’ due for release July 16th 2010) so you never know. I can’t see this shooting any earlier than late 2010/early 2011. Talk on someone other than Christopher Nolan directing this seems ridiculous to me.
There’s some scuttlebutt that in early 2010, Warner Bros. and Chris Nolan will finalize the plan for BATMAN 3, according to a solid and longtime BOF source. Whether there will be an announcement or not remains to be seen.
Our guy told BOF that in his opinion, the longer we don’t here a Nolan/B3 announcement in 2010, the less likely it is that the director will return. (I don’t know if I necessarily agree with that since I’m of the belief that Chris has already signed on.)
