New Poster For ‘The Veteran’ – Starring Toby Kebbell, Ashley “Bashy” Thomas & Brian Cox
Apr 4th
Revolver have unleashed this new poster for the London based action thriller ‘The Veteran.’ I was fortunate enough to attend an early press screening for this a few weeks back and have to say it was brilliant, hard-hitting stuff. Toby Kebbell, one of cinemas brightest young talents, does a fantastic job in the lead role. To date it might just be my favourite film of 2011, it’s one of those films that when it finishes you just have to sit back and let it process, it’s a bit special. The likes of Ashley “Bashy” Thomas, Brian Cox, Adi Bielski and Tony Curran also star. ‘The Veteran’ is out in the UK April 29th.
Based in a London sink-estate, THE VETERAN tells the story of a young soldier returning from Afghanistan. Having experienced the hell of active combat, Robert Miller (Toby Kebbell) is thrown back into society, suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Targeted as an undercover surveillance operative to monitor suspected terrorists in Britain, Miller soon becomes obsessed with saving Alayna, a young Anglo-Asian woman from a group of fanatics.
Realising the link between the war on terror and the war on drugs, from the soldiers on the front line to the drug dealers on the streets, Miller gradually becomes consumed by this dangerous underworld and his quest for justice – with devastating consequences.

Even though the version I viewed wasn’t completely finished I’d still say that it’s my favourite film of 2011 so far. Empire have got their mitts on the debut trailer for the London based action thriller ‘The Veteran.’ I was fortunate enough to attend an early press screening for this a few weeks back and have to say it was brilliant, hard-hitting stuff! First Image From ‘Rise of the Apes’ – Starring James Franco, Freida Pinto & Andy Serkis
Feb 24th
Joblo have unveiled this debut image from the Rupert Wyatt’s upcoming Planet of the Apes prequel, ‘Rise of the Apes.’ The film stars seemingly the busiest man in film James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Tom Felton, Tyler Labine, Brian Cox and Andy Serkis portraying a super intelligent ape with motion capture. The film is set for cinemas November 23rd.
Rise of the Apes is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.
Second Trailer For Red – Starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman & John Malkovich

This looks bat sh*t crazy, actually that phrase doesn’t do it’s wackiness justice. It looks as mad as a bottle of chips, yes as mad as a bottle of chips!!! This trailer – which was debuted at Comic Con today – has completely won me over, the film looks incredibly entertaining. I had my slight qualms with director Robert Schwentke due to his previous film’s (which include Flightplan & The Time Traveller’s Wife), yet after seeing this video I‘m completely invested. The ensemble cast is stacked with class – Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Richard Dreyfuss, Helen Mirren and Karl Urban.
Red is the story of Frank Moses (Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive. Also in the cast are Karl Urban, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine, Julian McMahon, James Remar and Rebecca Pidgeon.
