10 Character Wallpapers For ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’
Jul 12th
With the films hugely anticipated release on the horizon, Marvel have released these ten character wallpapers for ‘Captain America: The First Avenger.’ The Marvel Comics adaptation comes to cinemas July 22nd, 2011 in the US, and July 29th 2011 in the UK. The film stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Neal McDonough, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell, Derek Luke and Toby Jones.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.
Three New Character Posters For Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I Featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint & Emma Watson
Sep 29th
Those exclamation point lovers over at Yahoo! Movies! have released three new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I character posters. This movie is destined to be huge, even a miserable old fart like me is stoked as a goat to see it! Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will hit cinemas November 19th, while Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is slated for release July 15, 2011. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Jim Broadbent, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Timothy Spall, David Thewlis, Julie Walters and is directed by David Yates.
Part 1 begins as Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality and destruction—the Horcruxes. On their own, without the guidance of their professors or the protection of Professor Dumbledore, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are Dark Forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart. Meanwhile, the wizarding world has become a dangerous place for all enemies of the Dark Lord. The long-feared war has begun and Voldemort’s Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting anyone who might oppose them. But the one prize they still seek is the one most valuable to Voldemort: Harry Potter. The Chosen One has become the hunted one as the Death Eaters search for Harry with orders to bring him to Voldemort…alive.
Harry’s only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him. But as he searches for clues, he uncovers an old and almost forgotten tale—the legend of the Deathly Hallows. And if the legend turns out to be true, it could give Voldemort the ultimate power he seeks. Little does Harry know that his future has already been decided by his past when, on that fateful day, he became “the Boy Who Lived.” No longer just a boy, Harry Potter is drawing ever closer to the task for which he has been preparing since the day he first stepped into Hogwarts: the ultimate battle with Voldemort.
Two New Character Posters For Predators
Jun 1st
Adrien Brody’s character Royce, and Alice Braga’s character Isabelle have been given their own posters for the upcoming Predators movie – expect to see more character posters from the film in the next few weeks. While Arnold Schwarzenegger is governing California (pronounced by him CAHL E FOUR KNEE UHHH), Robert Rodriguez and Nimród Antal have decided to give the Predators franchise a complete rebirth after the steaming turds that were the Alien Vs Predator movies, I’ve been impressed by everything I’ve seen so far
. In the UK we get the film a day earlier, on the 8th of July.
A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators. In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne. Co-starring are Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali. Predators was written by Alex Litvak & Mike Finch based upon characters created by Jim Thomas & John Thomas. The producers are Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellàn.
Seven New Inception Character Posters
May 24th
Over the weekend we were blessed with an incredibly awesome TV Spot for Inception, today we can feast our eyes on seven character posters for the film, Leonardo DiCaprio is ‘The Extractor’, Cillian Murphy is ‘The Mark’, Ellen Page ‘The Architect’, Marion Cotillard ‘The Shade’, Ken Watanabe ‘The Tourist’, Joseph Gordon-Levitt ‘The Point Man’ and Tom Hardy ‘The Forger’. I couldn’t possibly be more stoked for a film in 2010!
Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible–inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. This summer, your mind is the scene of the crime.
Laurence Fishburne’s New Predators Character Featurette
May 5th
As someone who doesn’t watch CSI, I haven’t seen Laurence Fishburne on screen in a while. I’ve always liked Fishburne and from reading a bunch of comments online I’m happy to see everyone seems to be as excited seeing him in Predators as much as I am. Robert Rodriguez is completely earning his money worth as the Producer on Predators, in this featurette he gives us an inside look at Fishburne’s character Noland.
