Out and about on the promotional campaign for ‘Dawn of the Planet of Apes,’ Andy Serkis opened up about helping Mark Ruffalo refine his performance as Hulk on ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron.’ Back in May, Ruffalo was asked by a fan if he could reveal something about the Hulk in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ to which he replied, “Well, I have been working with the great @AndySerkis on the big green boy and he is going to be even better”.
During this Q & A with Variety, the performance capture King talks about being involved with both ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and ‘Star Wars Episode VII’ from a consultancy standpoint (he’s also playing a character in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’): “The Imaginarium is the performance capture consultant, and I’m playing a role (in both films). On ‘The Avengers,’ I’ve been working closely with Mark Ruffalo.” Asked if we’ll actually see his face, Serkis replied, “I’m not at liberty to mention. But it’s all the same to me. I’ve never drawn a distinction when playing a role, whether it be live action or performance capture. Acting is acting. It’s just basically what you wear to the set that’s different.”
Out and about on the promotional campaign of ‘Begin Again’ in the UK, Mark Ruffalo opened up about ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ and the status of a Hulk standalone movie. On the topic of Marvel putting together a Hulk flick, Ruffalo said, “I think they are, for the first time, sort of entertaining the idea of it. When we did ‘The Avengers’ it was basically ‘No!’, and now there is some consideration for it. But there’s still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut.”
