Michael Mann To Direct A “Cyber Threat” Thriller Starring Chris Hemsworth
Feb 15th
Variety are reporting that Michael Mann (Heat, Ali, The Last of the Mohicans) is set to direct an untitled thriller for Legendary Pictures with Chris Hemsworth attached to star. Mann has been developing this project for over a year, co-writing the script with Morgan Davis Foehl, who is also penning ‘Mass Effect’ for Legendary. While plot details are currently few and far between, it is said that the film takes place in a world of cyber threats and attacks.
Michael Mann’s last directional effort was 2009′s ‘Public Enemies,’ which starred Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Since ‘Public Enemies’ the director had been linked to a handful of films, including ‘Gold,’ which had Christian Bale circling; and the racing pic ‘Go Like Hell’ for Fox. Chris Hemsworth is currently attached to Steven Spielberg’s ‘Robopocalypse,’ which has been delayed, the sequel to ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ and the adventure ‘In the Heart of the Sea,’ which has Ron Howard circling.

On where he wishes to take the character in ‘Thor: The Dark World,’ Tom Hiddleston has said, “I’d like to take Loki to his absolute rock bottom. I’d like to see him yield, essentially, to his darkest instincts. Then, having hit rock bottom, maybe come back up. I think the fascination for me about playing Loki is that, in the history of the mythology and the comic books and the Scandinavian myths, is he’s constantly dancing on this fault line of the dark side and redemption.”
