‘Dark Knight’ Vs. ‘Man Of Steel’ Painting Featuring Christian Bale’s Batman & Henry Cavill’s Superman
May 22nd
Charles Logan has drawn this stellar crossover painting centering on Henry Cavill’s Superman and Christian Bale’s Batman. Charles’ description for the piece is as follows: “The Dark Knight versus The Man Of Steel. As you might have noticed they are in their respective live action Nolan / Snyder outfits. I thought it’d be a nice take to see. This piece was pretty much inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel and its animation adaption (which is done very beautifully, mind you). Hence why Batman’s armor looks more metallic than rubbery. The pose reference is from Jim Lee’s Hush. The Characters of Batman and Superman belong to DC Comics.”
Christian Bale & Natalie Portman Feature In First Image From Terrence Malick’s ‘Knight of Cups’
May 15th
The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled this first official still from Terrence Malick’s ‘Knight of Cups,’ featuring Natalie Portman and Christian Bale walking on the beach. FilmNation is showing footage of the auteur’s latest film to foreign investors during the Cannes Film Festival. The film’s tightly guarded plot is said to be about celebrities and excess. ‘Knight of Cups’ is currently in post production.
‘Knight Of Cups’ is one of two films the acclaimed director filmed back-to-back in 2012. As a massive Terrence Malick fan, it feels slightly bizarre – yet thoroughly thumbs-up worthy – that he filmed two movies last year. Since his debut film in 1973, ‘Badlands,’ the filmmaker has only made five other movies: ‘Days Of Heaven,’ ‘The Thin Red Line,’ ‘The New World,’ ‘The Tree of Life’ and ‘To The Wonder.’ The likes of Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Wes Bentley, Isabel Lucas, Natalie Portman, Imogen Poots, Freida Pinto, Justin Wheelon, and Jason Clarke all filmed scenes for ‘Knight of Cups.’ Expect more news soon.

Robert De Niro Speaks On His Role In David O. Russell’s Abscam Drama
Apr 9th
Talking to Empire Magazine, Robert De Niro shed some light on his involvement in David O. Russell’s as-yet-untitled (formerly titled ‘American Bullshit’) Abscam project. The Oscar winning actor explained he’ll be playing a man immersed unwittingly in the corruption exposed by a late ’70s FBI sting. “My character is a guy who comes in and represents the whole gambling thing, trying to help them work it out. Unwittingly, he’s also being used. He’s legitimate, in that he can do casinos, but he’s also connected to the underworld.” So a fixer of sorts? “Right.” De Niro continued, “It’s the story of how the government prosecutor went after federal politicians. They were taking bribes to allow the legalisation of gambling in New Jersey.” Expect a complex world of sleaze and corruption, in other words. “I’m still learning about it myself,” laughed De Niro.
