First Official Images From Martin McDonagh’s ‘Seven Psychopaths’ – Starring Colin Farrell, Sam Rockwell & Woody Harrelson
Feb 9th
As an enormous fan of writer/director Martin McDonagh’s ‘In Bruges,’ McDonagh’s latest project, the action-comedy ‘Seven Psychopaths,’ is undoubtedly one of my most anticipated releases of 2012. ‘Seven Psychopaths’ re-teams McDonagh with his ‘In Bruges’ star Colin Farrell, the stellar cast also includes Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, Olga Kurylenko, Abbie Cornish, Kevin Corrigan, and Gabourey Sidibe.
Described as a “blood-drenched, black comedy,” the film follows Marty (Colin Farrell), a struggling writer who dreams of finishing his screenplay ‘Seven Psychopaths.’ All he needs is a little focus and inspiration. Billy (Sam Rockwell) is Marty’s best friend, an unemployed actor and part time dog thief, who wants to help Marty by any means necessary. Hans (Christopher Walken) is Billy’s partner in crime. A religious man with a violent past. Charlie is the psychopathetic gangster whose beloved dog, Billy and Hans have just stolen. Charlie’s unpredictable, extremely violent and wouldn’t think twice about killing anyone or anything associated with the theft. Marty is going to get all the focus and inspiration he needs, just as long as he lives to tell the tale. The film is set for release in the fall. Source: Entertainment Weekly.
Len Wiseman Speaks On ‘Total Recall’ – Reveals He’s Handing In His Directors Cut Over The Weekend
Jan 21st
On the promotional campaign for ‘Underworld: Awakening,’ Len Wiseman opened up to Comingsoon about his upcoming action thriller ‘Total Recall.’ The filmmaker revealed that he’s turning in his director’s cut this Sunday;“I’m very close to handing over my cut. It’s going really well. The combination of mystery and emotion and action, it’s coming together. Colin [Farrell] is a large part of that and I’m really happy with him.”
Wiseman also shed some light on what he found the most surprising and challenging aspects of the material: “I think the complexity of the dual stories was the most surprising and challenging thing. When you see Total Recall, the [Paul] Verhoeven film you experience it, it’s finished. When you’re involved in diving into the material again and going back into the Philip K. Dick story, you realize there is so much to be discussed about the dual stories. There’s the reality story and there’s the fantasy element. They’re running parallel together, so you always have to keep those two alive. That’s the inherent nature of the concept and what makes the concept so cool. I will say, at the same time, this made all of the conversation I had with my cast fun. “Every little detail has to apply to both scenarios. My actors would ask, ‘So, in this scene, am I – because I know that I’m lying, because I’m the double agent – how well do I act? It sounds like a silly question, but do you want the other character to see through that or am I so good as a double agent that you would never suspect I’m the best buddy or the wife.’ It’s all of those little things. So, that’s my long way of saying the dual nature of the story was the best thing about this.”
Official Synopsis For ‘Total Recall’ – Starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale & Bryan Cranston
Jan 16th
Sony Pictures has made available this first official synopsis for Len Wiseman’s upcoming action thriller ‘Total Recall.’ Starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Bill Nighy, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston, and Ethan Hawke, the film is based on the Philip K. Dick story, “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale.” The original ‘Total Recall’ followed a man (Arnold Schwarzenegger) haunted by a recurring dream of journeying to Mars who buys a literal dream vacation from a company called Rekall Inc., which sells implanted memories. The man comes to believe he is a secret agent and ends up on a Martian colony, where he fights to overthrow a despotic ruler controlling the production of air. The new story ditches the Martian storyline and instead involves nation states Euromerica and New Shanghai, with Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell) a factory worker in the latter who begins to believe he is a spy, although he doesn’t know for which side. Vilos Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) is the leader of Euromerica who, under the cover of protecting his people, is secretly readying an invasion of New Shanghai. Jessica Biel plays Melina, while Kate Beckinsale plays Lori. ‘Total Recall’ is scheduled for release August 3rd. Check out the new synopsis below:
“Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.”

Colin Farrell Interview For ‘Fright Night’
Aug 15th

Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school, Amy (Imogen Poots). In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic. ‘Fright Night’ hits cinemas August 19th in the US, and September 2nd in the UK.
As a fan of the original film, were you hesitant about taking this role on?
Colin Farrell: My initial reaction to it was, ‘Oh no, Hollywood unoriginality strikes again!’ Craig Gillespie said, ‘I’m going to end my career. Why don’t you join me?’ And I said, ‘But, I’ve tried to end mine so many times.’ (Laughs) I was really worried, well not really worried, that’s an exaggeration, but I was kind of nonplussed about the notion of being involved in a remake, number one, because guess what? The ego doesn’t want to be involved in remakes because then people go, ‘Remakes? That’s unoriginal, and that’s uncool.’ I don’t want to be as easy a target, I like to make myself as unobvious a target as possible. And then a remake of something that I knew was as loved and held in such nostalgic esteem. When I saw it for the first time, when I was 10, 11 or 12, I loved it. I’ve seen it anywhere between 10 and 20 times. Then I read the script and from page 1 until the end, it was just a really fun read. I was looking to do something a little bit lighter than the dramatic films that I’d done, whether it was ‘Triage,’ ‘Ondine,’ ‘In Bruges,’ or ‘Pride and Glory.’ They were so much fun, but I wanted to go and have a bit of crack, and not be constrained by an emotional or psychological background, or any of those things. I knew I was being thought of for Jerry, so when I read it I was like, ‘God, it’s so much fun.’ And, I knew Craig Gillespie was directing it, and I’d seen ‘Lars and the Real Girl,‘ so I thought he was a really cool choice for this film. It all fell on who the director was. It was dangerous to visit this material, I loved the original. I do hope those who liked the original like this film, I really do.
Imogen Poots Interview For ‘Fright Night’

What was it like playing a suburban, American teenager?
Imogen Poots; It was really cool. I think it has to stem from my fascination with all things American. I was brought up with American television, which was very accessible in the UK. But also I felt a need and a want to embody that girl, whoever she was, and understand her. If you’ve read enough American literature and were educated on American films and cinema, then you want to have that opportunity to dismiss your own innate British identity for a short while. It was awesome, I loved it.
Amy is depicted as one of the ‘cool girls.’ I think she’s always been quite popular at school, she’s always had a solid friendship group, she’s bright, she’s brought up well. I think her relationship to Charlie is a surprise to her friends – he’s pretty much regarded as geeky and nerdy. But she finds that endearing, hence their relationship. I think different aspects of their characters make them compatible, in quite a strange way.
At first Amy just perceives Charlie’s insecurities about Jerry ridiculous and ludicrous. I’m sure she thinks it may be an underlying jealousy, because Jerry, you know, he’s a bit of a looker (laughs). I feel she believes that it’s one of Charlie’s many adventures.
