Where The Wild Things Are, one of the most anticipated films of 2009 is finally being released in UK cinemas December 11th (it was released in the US back in October!!!). The good people behind the film are giving away prizes for the best yowler in the country . I was fortunate to attend the screening yesterday at the swanky Warner Brothers screening room, I’m gonna post my thoughts later today.

The US number one box office hit and coolest flick of the year – Where The Wild Things Are – is hitting UK cinemas on 11thDecember, and, to celebrate, the Wild Rumpus has officially begun! We are recruiting Yowlers in shopping malls around the country, or in the safety of their own homes, to create the longest Wild Thing Yowl.

A yowl can be a sound that expresses anything you want – from joy and excitement to letting off some Christmas shopping steam, or to just prove that you are louder than your mate. Think of a howl – but wilder!

Customised Wild Thing yowling booths are visiting shopping centres around the country collecting your yowls in the run up to the movie’s release. Just look out for the HUGE tree stump in the following locations and yowl as long as you can.

29th November METRO CENTRE, GATESHEAD
30th November TRAFFORD CENTRE, MANCHESTER
1st December CABOTS CIRCUS, BRISTOL
4th December WESTFIELD, LONDON
5th December WESTFIELD, LONDON
6th December WESTFIELD, LONDON

If you’re a shy Wild Thing…and you’d rather yowl in the privacy of your own home, office, school or wherever you please, just visit http://www.youtube.com/wildthingsyowl and upload your yowl direct. There you can check out the movie’s trailer and a heap of exclusive Where the Wild Things Are content.

The best Yowlers can bag some amazing prizes, including games consoles, games and personalised limited edition awards for the best of the bunch, in any of our five categories:

- Yowl in most ridiculous costume
- Yowl with most people on screen
- Longest Individual Yowl in one breath
- Funniest/Strangest/Cutest Yowl
- Favorite Yowl!

Where The Wild Things Are is award-winning director Spike Jonze’s eagerly-awaited interpretation of one of the most beloved books of all time. It tells the story of Max, a rambunctious and sensitive boy who feels misunderstood at home and escapes to where the Wild Things are. There he meets mysterious and strange creatures whose emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions. It is released in cinemas nationwide on 11th December 2009

There is a Wild Thing in All of Us…we just don’t let it out often enough, but now you have your chance! Unleash your Wild Thing and get Yowling!
