First Look At Joseph Gordon-Levitt On The Set Of Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’
Dec 20th
Progress Index have got their mitts on this first images of Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Robert Todd Lincoln, the eldest son of Abraham Lincoln, on the set of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming biopic ‘Lincoln.’ Based on the best-selling book, ‘Team of Rivals,’ by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin (who also adapted the script with Tony Kushner), the story focuses on the life of the former President, focusing on the man’s rise to politics and his role in the Civil War.
Daniel Day-Lewis stars alongside the likes of (takes a deep breath) Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Tim Blake Nelson, James Spader, David Costabile, Joseph Cross, John Hawkes, Hal Holbrook, Byron Jennings, Dakin Matthews, Bruce McGill, Boris McGiver, Gloria Reuben, Jeremy Strong, Jared Harris, Jackie Earle Haley, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, David Oyelowo, and David Warshofsky (catches breathe). I’ve got high hopes for this film, look out for ‘Lincoln’ late 2012.

This debut image has emerged online of Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln while taking a break from filming Steven Spielberg’s upcoming biopic ‘Lincoln.’ Based on the best-selling book, ‘Team of Rivals,’ by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin (who also adapted the script with Tony Kushner), the story focuses on the life of the former President, focusing on the man’s rise to politics and his role in the Civil War.

The Likes Of Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt & John Hawkes To Join Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’?
May 6th
The Hollywood Reporter have caught wind that a huge list of actors are in negotiations to join Daniel Day Lewis (Abraham Lincoln) and Sally Field (Mary Todd Lincoln) in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming Abraham Lincoln biopic ‘Lincoln.’ The likes of (takes a deep breath) Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Joseph Cross, David Costabile, Byron Jennings, Dakin Matthews, Boris McGiver, Gloria Reuben, Jeremy Strong and David Warshofsky (catches breathe) are in negotiations to join the flick.
If the THR’s sources are on the money Jones is in negotiations to play Thaddeus Stevens, a Republican leader and congressman from Pennsylvania. Stevens was a staunch supporter of abolishing slavery and was critical to writing the legislation that funded the American Civil War. Gordon-Levitt is in negotiations to take on the role of Robert Todd Lincoln, eldest son of President Lincoln and the only one to live past his teenage years.
I’ve got high hopes for this film. ‘Lincoln’ will be based on the best-selling book, “Team of Rivals,” by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, the screenplay has been written by the Pulitzer Prize winner, Tony Award winner, and Academy Award nominated writer Tony Kushner. Filming is expected to begin in the fall of 2011 for release in the fourth quarter of 2012.
Sally Field Joins Daniel Day-Lewis In Steven Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’
Apr 13th
Dreamworks Studios have just sent over a press release announcing that two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field (Forrest Gump, ER) will star as Mary Todd Lincoln, wife to the 16th President of the United States, in DreamWorks Studios’ ‘Lincoln’ to be directed by Steven Spielberg. Field joins fellow two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis who will star as Abraham Lincoln.
Both Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field have the chops to carry any role, I’ve got high hopes for this. Daniel Day-Lewis Cast As Abraham Lincoln In Steven Spielberg’s Upcoming Biopic ‘Lincoln’
Nov 19th
One of the greatest actors working today, and two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis will star as Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States in DreamWorks Studios biopic ‘Lincoln.’ The film will be directed by some fella named Steven Spielberg. The announcement was made today by Spielberg and Stacey Snider, Co-Chairman and CEO of DreamWorks Studios.
“Daniel Day-Lewis would have always been counted as one of the greatest of actors, were he from the silent era, the golden age of film or even some time in cinema’s distant future. I am grateful and inspired that our paths will finally cross with ‘Lincoln,’” said Steven Spielberg. “Throughout his career, he has been exceptionally selective in his choice of material,” added Stacey Snider, “which makes us feel even more fortunate that he has chosen to join with us for ‘Lincoln.”
Earlier this year Liam Neeson dropped out of this role in Spielberg’s much delayed biopic, Daniel Day-Lewis has the chops to carry any role, I’ve got high hopes for this.
