New Clip From I’m Still Here – Featuring Diddy & Of Course Joaquin Phoenix
Sep 8th
Ape, barmy, bats in the belfry, batty, berserk, bonkers, cracked, crazed, cuckoo, daft, delirious, demented, deranged, dingy, dippy, erratic, flaky, flipped, flipped out, freaked out, fruity, idiotic, insane, kooky, lunatic, mad, mad as a March hare, mad as a hatter, maniacal, mental, moonstruck, nuts, nutty, nutty as fruitcake, of unsound mind, out of one’s mind, out of one’s tree, out to lunch, potty, psycho, round the bend, schizo, screw loose, screwball, screwy, silly, touched, unbalanced, unglued, unhinged, unzipped, wacky….these words don’t even begin to describe Joaquin Phoenix’s behaviour in I’m Still Here – this CAN’T be real! I’m Still Here is in cinemas 17th September in the UK and September 10th in the US. I for one am down, it looks fascinating.
The directorial debut of Oscar-nominated actor Casey Affleck, I’M STILL HERE is a striking portrayal of a tumultuous year in the life of internationally acclaimed actor Joaquin Phoenix. With remarkable access, I’M STILL HERE follows the Oscar-nominee as he announces his retirement from a successful film career in the fall of 2008 and sets off to reinvent himself as a hip hop musician. Sometimes funny, sometimes shocking, and always riveting, the film is a portrait of an artist at a crossroads. Defying expectations, it deftly explores notions of courage and creative reinvention, as well as the ramifications of a life spent in the public eye.

I’m Still Here Poster – The Lost Year Of Joaquin Phoenix Documentary
Aug 4th
Joaquin Phoenix looks more like a haggard Zach Galifianakis than himself in this debut poster for I’m Still Here. Hopefully this documentary will answer Phoenix’s mad as a box of frogs behaviour from last year. I’m Still Here is directed by actor Casey Affleck and Tom Blomquist, who after Phoenix announced that he was retiring from acting in order to pursue a rap career, filmed the whole experience and the result is this upcoming documentary. This sounds completely nuts, but I’m intrigued to see it, I’ve always liked Joaquin Phoenix.

In The Land Of The Free Trailer
Mar 10th
I’m quite partial to a good documentary, especially ones shining a light on injustice. Documentary+crime+prisons+injustice+Samuel L Jackson’s narration = I’m checking this out! Looks like powerful stuff, check out the trailer below.
In the Land of the Free… Is a documentary feature that examines the story of Herman Wallace, Albert Woodfox and Robert King. They are known as the Angola 3 and have spent almost a century between them in solitary confinement in Angola, the Louisiana state penitentiary. Herman and Albert are still held in solitary confinement after thirty seven years. How could this be? In America. Today.
The film is directed by Vadim Jean (Leon The Pig Farmer, Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather) produced by the mob film company (Terry Pratchett’s Colour Of Magic, Stone Of Destiny) Gold Circle Films (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, White Noise, A Haunting In Connecticut) and UKTV’S Yesterday Films and is narrated by Samuel L Jackson.
