Joel Edgerton, Dominic Cooper, Garrett Hedlund & Luke Evans Testing For The Lead In ‘The Bourne Legacy’
Mar 25th
Deadline, through their seemingly endless supply of sources, hear that Joel Edgerton (Animal Kingdom), Dominic Cooper (The Devil’s Double), Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) and Luke Evans (The Amateur American) are set to test for the lead in Tony Gilroy’s Bourne spinoff, ‘The Bourne Legacy.’ Logan Marshall-Green, Shia LaBeouf and Taylor Kitsch are also said to be in the running. Out of the named mentioned above I’d personally like to see Edgerton get the role, his beard was amazing in ‘Animal Kingdom,’ as was his acting.
Tony Gilroy wrote the previous three Bourne movies along with ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ and ‘Michael Clayton’ (which he also directed) – each thoroughly thumbs up worthy movies! Also to point out while the film shares a title with the book ‘The Bourne Legacy’ by Eric Van Lustbader – the first book in the series after original writer Robert Ludlum’s death – Gilroy says it’s a stand alone script that does not follow the same plot. The film will feature a whole new hero in the same universe, which is a bit of a bummer for me. With my somewhat limited intellect it’s hard to think of a Bourne movie without Jason Bourne. ‘The Bourne Legacy’ comes to cinemas August 3rd, 2012.

Ladies and Gentlemen: HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS! After much anticipation Marvel have released the first full-length trailer for ‘Captain America: The First Avenger,’ and well waddayaknow, it delivers! ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ comes to cinemas July 22nd, 2011 in the US, and July 29th 2011 in the UK. The film stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Neal McDonough, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell, Derek Luke and Toby Jones. Check out the trailer below.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the Super-Solider Serum and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and as leader of the Avengers.

Trent Reznor Will NOT Score & Star In ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’
Mar 11th
This is a bit of a bummer for me. Nine Inch Nails front man, and now Oscar winner Trent Reznor took to the official NIN message boards to reveal that he will NOT score and star in ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.’ News leaked a few weeks back that Reznor was in talks for this project, Reznor explains why he turned the project down:
Don’t believe everything you read. As it turns out, I WON’T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all. There’s no juicy story here, it’s just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement I hadn’t made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing. I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am.
Bottom line, I wish them the best with the film and I’m sure it will still be great. Also, in all the excitement of the last note I forgot to mention we’re still fully engaged with the Year Zero mini-series, writing away.
Reznor and Atticus Ross are pegged to be scoring David Fincher’s upcoming adaptation of ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ this year. ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ is scheduled for release June 22nd, 2012. The film is a vampire-slaying re-imagining of the iconic sixteenth president of the United States in the movie adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith‘s novel of the same name. Anthony Mackie, one of my favourite young actors, will play the role of Will, Abraham Lincoln’s (Benjamin Walker) best friend. Dominic Cooper is set to play the president’s mentor and teacher in the story, a mythic, ageless figure named Henry Sturgess who turns Lincoln into an axe-throwing expert slayer of vampires. Mary Elizabeth Winstead will play Mary Todd Lincoln – Abe’s wife.

After picking up an Oscar with his fantastic score for ‘The Social Network,’ Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor looks set to score and star in ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,’ as the vampire who kills Lincoln’s Mum – the swine *waves fist*.
