The cast alone is the definition of badass – Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Terry Crews, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Trejo. It looks like a complete throwback to the action flicks of the 80’s (a guilty pleasure of mine). If you like your films profound and thought provoking this is not for you, yet if bullets, explosions, bombs, guns and chase scenes are up your alley, this is a must!

Goddamn this trailer is manly (even though it’s a bit of a sausage fest), I feel like swallowing ten raw eggs, drinking a protein shake and growing an epic beard. This trailer does a great job of selling the huge list of action stars involved in this film, check it out below.

Playing on stereotype’s, The Expendables is pretty much for men, what Sex and The City is for women. The majority of the actors above have possessed a unique ability that makes them seemingly invulnerable to virtually everything thrown at them during their respected film careers. This skill along with them all being in one film together really should make this film epic, it’s probably 1,222,222,333,333,333,333/1 odds to be critically acclaimed, but you know what,  it’s not supposed to make sense it’s supposed to be awesome! ‘An epic of epic epicness’ movie poster tag-line of the year! Both these posters are simple but slick. I’m thoroughly looking forward to both of these, Scott Pilgrim is directed by Edgar Wright, the man behind Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz two of my favourite comedy films of the last decade, I’m also interested in seeing Michael Cera play a role different to his awkward virgin role he’s played (very well I might add) in 27212 movies, I’m sold on this already.

As a red blooded straight man I’ve been a fan of action movies since I can remember, The Expendables looks like a master-class in mindless fun, the cast is pretty ridiculous – Sly Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Danny Trejo, Charisma Carpenter, and many others.

Sylvester Stallone recently talked to Entertainement Weekly about the  scene with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. Looking forward to this, definitely one to watch with your mates!

Stallone said the superstar-summit scene takes place in a church, where Willis’ nasty antagonist has summoned Stallone’s macho mercenary to finally meet him face-to-face, take measure of him, and possibly hire him for a death-defying mission. But just as the meeting gets under way and smartass smalltalk is made, in walks another killer-for-hire — Stallone’s longtime rival, who Willis has also invited to this job interview: Ah-nuld.

“Bruce says ‘Well, there’s one other person I want to talk to before I hire you,” says Stallone. “And then Arnold, who plays my old rival, walks in. We have a history together. And we go back and forth and I tell him that I should have shot him a long time ago when I had the chance. Then it goes on from there. And here we are, the three of us trying to man up to one another, playing off of who we are, using our baggage in this one scene.”

Stallone says that big scene with Willis, Schwarzenegger, and himself would amount to more than a cameo or a stunt in the final cut of the film. “It’s probably going to be about 5 minutes of screen time.” Which, if you think about it, is kind of impressive considering that Willis and Schwarzenegger were only on the L.A. set for 6 hours. “We only had them for that one day and then Bruce had to go off to Istanbul and Arnold had to go back and do his governmental stuff. But I was impressed because they got up at 5:30 in the morning to do this.”

When asked if the Governator was rusty since he hasn’t been on screen since 2004’s Around the World in 80 Days and has spent most of his time in Sacramento, Stallone laughs and says no. “It’s like riding a bicycle.” Then he adds, “It’s funny because between the three of us, if you add up all the box office and DVD rentals and all of that, there’s like $15 billion in that one scene!”
